99.9% sure that's incorrect. There definitely missing something. They only have us as having 41 players under contract.

To down to salary. Cap summary, its a spreadsheet, hasn't been updated since the 20th so I think that's just huffs deal. And I'm not sure the full terms have been announced yet, ie yearly sal and bonus so it can't be done yet, but I'd take of about 1.5 from whatever he says is left at the 20th

The Dumervil signing isn't accounted for in that chart either

Subtract $2.5M for Doom and about $2M for Huff, that leaves us at roughly $3M under the cap.

Now that I reread your comment that mightve been a bit harsh.I thought you was one of those people who demand to get a thread locked simply because it sounds close to whats being discussed in another thread. My mistake...

Because they like to keep repetitive threads to a minimum. Why would you want 3 different threads on the same topic.

Can we save cutting and restructuring players for after the draft? Or do they automatically count to your cap when drafted?

Just wondering since it seems we can optimize our line up if we can try to draft everyone we want and then decide who goes or who is restructured.

I don't see us spending any more in FA until draft is completely over.

If some injury happens during TC/Preseason, I see us doing something. Other than that FA is over..

It amuses me that Pittsburgh only has approx. $2.5 mil in cap space and tons of holes to fill in their team.

The offense looks horrendous, except for Big Ben, and their defense looks even worse.

If they don't draft extremely well this year, I can see it being a tough year for our AFC North brethren.

I agree.

To be honest though, I'd rather the Steelers be a good team that we whoop up on, rather than a terrbile team that we whoop up on. I'm not saying they are terrible now, but they don't look like they have gotten any better since the season ended.

if you count the offer sheets we have out for rfa and erfa we had about 7,7 million in cap space (Canty and Spears counted) before signing Dumervil and Huff

Dumervil took away 2,5 million this year but due to the "Rule of 51" we can negate the lowest salary aka the 51st guy on the roster (salary wise) which would be worth 480k at the moment. That means Dumervil takes away roughly 2 million -> down to 5,7 million.

Without details on the Huff contract we can only speculate that his contract is an even 2 million a year (might be a lower cap hit this year). But as with Dumervil we can negate the "new" 51st guy on the roster which again is worth 480k. So with out knowing the exact details of the contract Huff should etract about 1,5 million from our current cap.

Leaving us with a current cap space of about 4,15 million.

If we stay at twelve draft picks and their respective places in the upcoming draft signing them should cost somewhere in between 1,1 million to 1,7 million against the cap.Once again the Rule of 51 makes it so that only our first and secound rounder should get an higher yearly average than 480k, alas being the only ones that would count fully against the cap, the other rookies should only have their signing bonus split with amount of years count against the cap.

That leaves us some wiggle room. I think we should try to make a lot of moves to trade up in the early to mid rounds. I don't think we have enough money to sign 12 picks and have enough space to still make a few moves later in the off-season.

Of course this number could easily change depending on who is drafted. I see a strong likelehood that Leach will be cut, just out of lack of field time and the new crown of the helment rule.

The 12 picks will only cost somewhere in between 1,2 to 1,7 million to sign against the cap due to the rule of 51
