Where is a link to the ravens salary cap for the next 4 years? Can't believe 120 mil goes so quick. Long term we need to plan on signing Torrey smith. He ain't being paid squat right now. Our free agents are all cashing in on the superbowl win. I hope we resign pitta. No secondary left except webb and he may not play right away.

I think Ngata is overpaid. I don't remember his name called very much if at all this season. I know he wasn't in on any clutch plays it was like his presence wasn't even felt. Suggs I can give a off year to because he was hurt, but I expect him to bounce back next season, lets hope for the same from Ngata if not... salary cut after next season. Boldin helped the Ravens win a superbowl and he was cut because his salary was only but around half of Ngata's. Boldin shows everyone on the Ravens you're not safe lol. So Ngata I hope steps his game up or he could be in trouble next off season.

Ngata's dead money is like 95% of his total cap hit next year. He won't be going anywhere.

I think you do a great job over there, btw. Your analysis on our cap situation is usually very accurate. Not sure how you do it, how much time is invested, etc. but I know many quietly appreciate your work. Thanks a lot.

Btw, I am on mobile and RSR isn't the most mobile friendly site. What is our cap right now?

According to BR.com, we are now looking to extend Pitta, Dickson, Jones and Oher.

I also see us doing new deals for Suggs and Ngata

I am smelling restructuring on the player's part. Other teams do it, and if you are truly a team player losing a little money on your part to ensure another key player is on the roster to maximize team success reflects commitment and a lack of selfishness on your (a player's) part. There is no i in team.
not a chance for the last two. Ngata is contemplating retirement, and suggs could be a shell of his former self.

The 7.7 million left is counting 51 players (rule of 51). The rookies that make the roster would take some of the current cap hits off the books. So how much space do we really need to sign rookies? 2 million max? I'm not a salary cap expert.

It's hard to tell right now because of possible movement up and down, but I think around $3-4M total for the draft class.

No offense, but that's kind of hard to do when you start from the word say go with an -estimated- salary cap figure.

And that reminds me, B-more ... why don't your Russel Street figures take into account the $900,000 minimum salary benefit that the NFL added onto the cap?

There was someone who stated that he was unable to read the links on his mobile, so he asked for a number.

I think at the point all these figures were being thrown around, no one really knew. Different sources had different numbers. Some contracts hadn't been accounted for and there was confusion about Pollard and Boldin. Now, everything has been cleared up and most sources have their numbers right around $7.5-7.7M.

I think part of the "confusion" and why you see so many variations on the reported cap is because it's all based on estimations. As far as I've seen, no one has access to the actual hard numbers.

Another part of it is how the sites deal with the numbers they have. It's hard to tell sometimes because of how fast the numbers flow, but the numbers you start with, how the site deals with contracts that have not been finalized or even offered, etc. all matter.

If you read them all, you get a pretty good, small window where the caps are. But it's always going to be a range. Notice all legit sites usually say "Estimated cap" or "the _______ are roughly at $______ under the cap". There's no exact number anyone outside of the Ravens FO can give you.

That's a benefit and isn't actually part of the Salary Cap, per se.

In a lot of the initial reports on the increase in the Cap for 2013, it was reported as included as part of the player salary part of the Cap, as opposed to the benefits part of the Cap, but in reality, it belongs to the benefits side.

Actually, sometimes they are estimates, other times they're rock solid.

Right now, they're rock solid as I've been able to confirm them with NFLPA records from 2 different sources.
