Make a trade for Branden Albert?

33 posts in this topic

Its not the 2nd round pick for Albert thats the issue. Albert is worth even our first round pick, and i'm sure there are other teams willing to deal their late 1st round pick for him. But the money he will want will be a problem for most teams. Since everyone has to spend $$$ on QBs, teams just can't fit big contract like that in their budget. Guys like Vollmer would've been picked from FA much quicker in previous years. Even when good players like Jake Long are available for free in FA, there just isn't much competition for their services. All these big contracts are taking their toll on teams, especially the Ravens now with Flacco's deal. As tempting as Albert looks, the Ravens would be willing to settle for a much weaker player for less money, and that just might be a 2nd round draft pick. And for all they know that guy might turn out to be pro bowler playing on a cheap contract for 4 years. Just don't think the Ravens or many teams can afford the move financially. We were willing to part with Boldin for a 6th round pick just get rid of his cap hit.

Rumor has it that the Eagles and Chiefs are in talk for a trade for Brandon Albert,( seen it on twitter).. Eagles offered their 3rd pick. I would most definately trade our 3rd for him even our 2nd! I feel that we are a LT away from our O being elite

I dont want to trade for a left tackle who is going to command big money. Trade up to land a good LT in the draft. Ozzie hits on lineman and with Castillo in the fold I think we're golden. Who knows maybe he can turn hardwood or someone on the roster (whats the kids name that ozzie was high on) into a starting LT.

You are right about this being the most pressing need on the team though. We land our LT for the next few years nad we are SET at every position on offense for the next 3-5 years.
