Aaron's got it out there now, too.

Good news. I like this signing. Fills a great need. His talent has been wasting away in Oakland.

yes sir! yes sir!.......In Oz, we Trust!

Now, we can enter the draft without top priority and just draft whatever best available on the board or we can move up or down to steal talents like usual.....

This offseason moves just can't get anything better but it's just only March....damn!

We're looking better and better by the day. Huff is a fantastic safety and has been playing at a higher level than Reed has the last couple of years.

The contract is 3yrs/$6m per Schefter.
That's a complete steal at $2M/year.

Ha! I love Ed but we are getting Huff for 3 years at what Ed is making in 1. Ozzie does it again.

2 mil a year? R u serious? Even if your not the biggest fan of him how can you be angry at that price. Now means we dont need to go safety early round one

Exactly! Ozzie likes to have flexibility on draft day.

Slow down Ed Reed has the most interceptions of any player the last 3 years. Let's not discount what Ed has been to us these last 11 years just because he's no longer here. I'm extremely happy that we signed a proven FS that can also play CB which makes our defense dangerous. He's younger and we got him for the next three years at the cost of Ed for one. Ozzie is phenomenal.

Ozzie has done a nice job revamping the defense.. It needed it.

Chris Canty DE
Marcus Spears DT
ELVIS DUMERVIL OLB
And now Michael Huff FS/CB

Huff and Ihedigbo will be a solid group back there!

Now, the focus is getting an ILB.. Whether we go young and risky in Rolando McClain once he is released or go older and safer as a stop gap in Karlos Dansby.

If not addressed before the draft, I believe ILB just became round 1 priority! With all those draft picks, TRADE UP FOR ARTHUR BROWN!!!!!!!!!

Just got this in an email from a friend (so no, I can't link to it) and hope it's true:

"Huff's total contract price is what Reed is getting in 1 year in Houston.

On top of that, here's an interesting stat from PFF":

Huff has missed a total of 18 tackles in the past three seasons.

Reed missed 16 tackles......in 2012 alone

Stats don't lie and Ed should have retired as the best safety in the history after winning his first SB....

I will say this for the inevitable Huff vs Reed debate: At this point in their careers I would rather have Huff, even with losing the leadership of Reed. Two years ago, I'd choose Reed but his play really dropped this season.
