Put me on that list of people who want to sign him to a one day contract. He IS my favorite Ravens' offensive player of all time (at this rate Flacco will surpass that). I certainly have a soft spot for him. That being said he wouldn't be able to help that much. Ed Dickson should start over him at this point, not to mention Dennis Pitta.

No chance. Sure he was a better blocker than Pitta and Dickson, but I don't really see the point. Pittas got great hands and eis an exceptional route runner

Off topic but Dickson is a very good blocker. I'm kinda sad that we seem to undervalue what Dickson offers us. Not only is he a way better blocker than Pitta (who offers nothing in that department) but he does have the athleticism and talent to be our starter should Pitta go down. His only problem is his hands but let's face it, Jacoby Jones gets significant playing time and that is the biggest weakness of his game. I'd feel very comfortable with Dickson as our TE if Pitta were to go down...better than Bajema or whoever else we have.

of course Dickson is better at blocking than Pitta, thats not saying much. Pitta tries but he's not a great blocker at all. Dickson is okay at blocking but not great. If he had bothered to block a little better for Justin Tucker in the Super Bowl we might have had a touch down on that drive.

Your right the only knock on Dickson is his hands. He's had some big catches, his hands aren't terrible, but he's also dropped his fair share of catchable balls, which is why Pitta took the starting job that use to be his. Pitta has better hands and is pretty solid all around except in the blocking department.

Jacoby Jones is more known for being a special teams ace and his speed. His hands have always been a little suspect, and he can have trouble hanging onto the ball in traffic. I love Jacoby, but as I've said numerous times he is a #3 receiver not a number 2. Houston tried to turn him into something he is not we just told Jacoby to be himself and he did great.

This is part of the reason I'm worried about losing Boldin. He had great hands and was very reliable. Torrey's hands have gotten significantly better and Pitta has good hands, but outside of that its not great. Anquan was also catching the ball consistently in traffic. Sure our tight ends and Torrey aren't soft they can take a pop, but not as reliably as Anquan could. So while we might be upgrading in speed one of our young guys is really going to have to step up or we have to draft someone. Torrey either has to move into the number 1 spot or stay at number 2, but we need someone to fill the other spot

But back on topic, as far as blocking went Heap was better than Dickson and Pitta. Nevertheless it makes no sense to bring him back. Too old and too many injuries at this stage of his career.

Oh yeah the missed block on Willis in the SB was huge...but at the same time, it was Patrick Willis. It's asking a lot of a TE to block someone who can easily match his athleticism in Willis. A LB taking on a block from a TE is much more favorable than a LB taking on a block from an O Lineman. It's still no excuse for the missed block though but you have to give Willis his props. I just remember more often than not, Dickson sealing off blocks to spring our RBs free for a big gain.

Pitta, I'm sure can do everything Anquan did for us. While it was great having 2 guys (Pitta and Boldin) who can consistently catch it in traffic was a luxury, I'm sure what Pitta will provide us will be sufficient enough to mitigate the loss of Boldin.

Maybe you didn't see his last season in Arizona - yes his quarterbacks were terrible, but he was so slow it was painful to watch. I didn't think he had anything left then, and 2 years later, he's definitely done. He was 30 when he last played for us, and he'll be 33 now.
