I have no problem with the rule because every QB uses it, for one it helps to sustain drives and make games more interesting.

Eh? What can they do with it? It's already up to the refs judgement and review-able... The only thing they could do would be to make it an outright fumble.

Its an idiotic rule. The ball goes below a QBs shoulder after a full throwing motion, he no longer intends to throw it, regardless if its "going forward".

In my best John Madden impression "if it looks like a fumble, it probably is a fumble"

i thought i wouldn't see this rule go away until after Brady and Manning retired regardless it was stupid to begin with and long overdue

It's Official! The Tuck Rule is no more as the Owners voted 29-1 to eliminate the tuck rule. Only Washington and, you guessed it, New England abstained.

And they passed the RB leading w/ the helmet rule.

Gonna be interesting watching refs trying to figure that one out.

Apparently the RB rule only applies outside of the tackle box.

While the Redskins & Patriots abstained from voting, the 1 in the 29-1 vote... The Steelers according to Rich Eisen.

I don't get that rule. Since when was that an issue? Now Ray can't truck anyone while going out of bounds?

that helmet rule makes no sense to me either and I can't wait to see the officials have fun with this one.
[/quote]

I read on Twitter, I believe it was Peter King, that the rule would have only affected 1 in 428 snaps last year. People are overreacting.

I'd be more interested on them fixing ducking in receivers. I know Belichick coaches them to duck after catching the ball to get the extra helmet-to-helmet yards.

But a fumble or an incomplete pass has a bigger impact on the outcome of the game than most of those snaps.
