Let's Take A Look-playoff Possibilites

I really don't want to go off if's and maybe's. I think I want Pitt to win and give us a good cuishon for the #6 seed. If NE wins and we slip up down the road, it's over.

Then again, I would love to have a first round bye or at least be able to play Denver instead of Indy or NE. But still, it's less risky if Pitt wins.

Ifs and maybes are all we have lol. But you definitely don't want Pitt to win. Seriously. The Patriots have the Steelers, the Seahawks, the Raiders, the Cardinals, and the Bills left on their Schedule. They have a better chance at running the table then we do of winning the next 4 of 5. The best thing for the Ravens is to win the Division and hopefully win at least 1 more game than both the Jets and Steelers to give us better seeding position. If it comes down to us and the Patriots fighting for the 6th seed with the same record we'll have them beat bcuz of our conference record.
Actually, you may be right, they have Detroit, Houston and Cleveland coming up. Wow. Hopefully Fisher doesn't want to rest his guys and go into the playoffs rusty.
There is no way he will rest them for that game.
This New England and Pitt game is a dream!!!! It's like taking two of our biggest threats and making them fight each other, causing one of them to fall and us to take thier spot! NE wins, we're tied for the division (barring a loss this weekend) Pitt wins and the wildcard belongs soley to us and Indy. A win win!!!!
It is. You have to look at the glass being half filled here. I'm hoping for a very physical game, hopefully these guys beat the crap out of each other moreso than the average game.

unless you have that much time to waste to speculate a new scenario every weekend i would take it one weekend at a time cuz in the NFL the board shuffels way too much.... in all likelyhood you will be singing a compleatly diffrent song come weeks 15,16,17. your ideas sound really good IQ but i wouldn't hold my breath or build up and fall far...... its sunday to sunday for this ravens fan.
Jets next 5
-Broncos (upset potential)
-49ers (easy)
-Buffalo (maybe loss)
-Seattle (upset potential)
-Miami (maybe loss)
Good post, but let me fix that. Using your logic with the Ravens, the Jets schedule looks something like this:

Jets next 5
-Broncos (winnable)
-49ers (winnable)
-Buffalo (winnable)
-Seattle (winnable)
-Miami (winnable)

I don't think they'll win out, but they have the best shot by far at getting the #2 seed. To mark the Steelers, Redskins and Jaguars as winnable on our schedule, and then to say that the Jets could lose to Denver, Buffalo, and Seattle is absurd.

I liked your post, though; I'd never really looked at the Ravens getting a bye, I thought that it was out of reach. I still see it as a long shot, but at least we have a chance.

More to come later, but here is how things have shaken up so far.

-Washington lost to New York. Although the score was close for a while, their offense is completely STAGNANT and we should be able to capitalize on a weak Clinton Portis and Washington offense.
-Buffalo lost to San Francisco. The Bills are now 6-6 and would have to win out to even be in the picture; I think that it's safe to say that they're done.
-Miami beat St. Louis and moved to 7-5. Although they're only one game back in the standings, the Ravens beat them head to head, so if Baltimore goes just 2-2, Miami would need to go 4-0 to make it in. They still have a shot, but they'd basically need to win out or have the Ravens go 1-3.

Pittsburgh vs. New England is a big game. I'll be happy either way, but I'd like Pittsburgh to lose.
If the Ravens can beat Dallas then I think we finish 12-4.
we would have to look at the Cardinals game and maybe the Rams :)
