Preston: Harbaugh Clearing Out Mutineers

This could explain the loss of Pollard and possibly Ed Reed. I'm not saying whether or not I agree but interesting for conversation

Leaders* But honestly, this makes no sense. Harbaugh defused the situation with little issue and all that got us to a Super Bowl.

Yeah I saw this on a tweet (shefter?) as well.. Interesting... I really wonder what the mutiny was about or how exactly it went down (I read the originally article on how they recovered, but it didn't go into detail on the specifics).

This is the original article: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bal-mike-preston-the-ravens-are-officially-john-harbaughs-team-now-20130313,0,6100293.story?track=rss

Agree that this is Harbaugh's team, disagree in your choice of words - "mutineers." There was never any mutiny on this team against John. Disagreeing but respectfully discussing the matter with the coach is very healthy.. and that's what the Ravens did late in the regular season.

Also, why did Preston state that Boldin was a "rabble-rouser?" Makes no sense.

there might be some truth in what he's saying but the choice of words and adding Q into it were just for the show

Interesting....

So according to Preston...Harbaugh wants the outspoken people off the team..anyone that may even remotely question something...

But those same players helped get harbaugh a championship...because those players were good.

So John would remove good players off this team that are outspoken? That's stupid.

I don't see why Ozzie would allow this...

Hilarious contradiction. All of those players were players John Harbaugh has brought in, re-signed, and publicly stood up for (most times combating what Preston says)

Remember when Preston said Ray and Ed couldn't play in 2011?? Now Ray's retirement and Ed's potential departure are Harbaugh's ego. Get out, troll!

The only reason I could agree is cause the team knows it's about to get younger. Last year there were a decent amount of vets/people who had only worked with Harbaugh. With youner guys being brought in maybe he doesn't want the older guys influencing them and wants them to buy in.

On the article, why did he have to say Suggs is gone? He has no idea how the team works.

maybe the guys were outspoken about the money being spread around or something? Might be annoying trying to get your 1/52nd of the cake when flacco's got 1/6th of it.

Yeah, must be it....

Boldin was traded to the 49ers to help Jim the same reason we relased Pollard!! Watch he will end up with the 49ers also.John feels like he ows Jim and wants him to win the next Super Bowl.Reed is next to leave!!!

I'm just saying a lot of those guys are looking for their first pay day or their last big one, and suddenly with Flacco's contract their financial prospects look a little more limited than they may like down the road. I know Flacco's contract only carries a 6.8 million dollar cap hit this year, but its going to go up and up and up. They all have rings now, the next goal is get as much money as you can before you retire, or get hurt. Just an idea I'm as confused as everyone else.

Every team wishes for a franchise QB (and reluctantly, the salary that goes along with it). We knew Kruger was gonna get overpaid. Ellerbe at $35M is insane. Boldin is a bummer, but I get it. I hate it, but I get it. Pollard is a head scratcher, but NOT due to money. We "save" $1M this year (yes, more in 2014, but why not release him then?). These moves all have nothing/little to do with Flaccos contract.

I suppose you're right, my second guess would be his injury concerns, back injuries are tricky, he broke his ribs. it might be that he broke his ribs and didn't tell the team Dr, and the Ravens don't want to risk him doing something like that in the future and suffering major repercussions if the league were to find out?

Like I said, interesting conversation. You be surprised how much winning can cover up stink. I'm liking that Harbaugh and Ozzie have a vision greater than winning one SB.
thats the thing with pollard we don't really have any real info. Or at least official espn and everyone else writing about this is only going off his tweet.

Look no further than the Steelers. What you said is true, but if you loom back to qhen he first got here this essentially what he said he wanted. A team like the Patriots and you can say technically he's achieved and exceeded that. A SB victory, 3 trips to the AFCCG and never missing the post season. This team has dynasty potential. Outsiders are saying the team should be worried, but we understand some of the depth this team has. Depth, newly acquired cap space, franchise QB with playmakers, defensive cogs and Ozzie reloading all point to a problem for the rest of a diminishing AFC. The fact they play in the toughest AFC division only helps make this team stronger.

Agreed 100% that health/injuries could play a part in this.
Q did get into it a couple of times with Todd Haley so it's believable. If it did happen it was probably some disagreement about Cam's offense.

Clearly, Harbs is getting rid of all veteran players from the U. He'd get rid of Reggie Wayne too if he could. j/k

This is all just a continuation of the team's shift towards getting younger and faster.
