With all these polemic talks after releases and players signing with other teams, I've start to see a lot of talks about WR signing. Many people said about Denario Alexander, Greg Jennings, Danny Amendola, Darrius Heyward-Bey and more.

But nobody even noticed about David Nelson. This guy is actually a UFA, and had a 3 year / US$ 1.25 mi contract. He has a huge potential, only 26 years old, and carried on the Bills offense all season long. Had more than 90 receptions for almost 1100 yards and 8 touchdowns. With Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing at him, I mean, Nelson is a huge, athletic and a physical guy (6 ft 5 in / 215 pounds). Maybe if gain a few pounds, he could be a great redzone target for us, besides replacing Anquan.

I believe we could get him very cheap, thinking about a 3 year / 2 mi per season.

Because, obviously, the last time the Baltimore Ravens got a wide receiver from the Buffalo Bills, it worked out oh, SO great, right? :eyes:

Lmao, that was quite hilarious I admit it... But think it through, Lee Evans against David Jones... The upside we should get on that would be gigantic.

If he's saying 6'5", it has to be Nelson.

David Nelson... Donald Jones had three weak years, behind lingering injuries, inconsistant plays, drops and behaviour problems. Besides being almost the same age, Nelson is more prepared to be a go-to-guy than Jones. Also, they're different style.

Those stats are his CAREER stats, not his stats from just last season. In 2012 he had 2 catches.

He tore his ACL last year. He played in 1 game and had 2 catches.

And yet you say he carried the team all season long. Did you watch a Bills game last year?

It sounds like another guy with potential, but that you can't really trust until he proves it. Not something I'd get my hopes up about.
As far as under-the-radar WR signings, I'm still holding my breath for Josh Cribbs. I hadn't heard anybody bring him up at all until I heard a Bill Parcells interview the other day. There was a time when he was a one-man offense for Cleveland. I know he disappeared lately, but how long can you really play your heart out for a team that refuses to win? Josh Cribbs and Steven Jackson have been the best players on the worst teams for a long time. Now, it looks like Larry Fitzgerald holds that title.

David Nelson, why?

If we're looking for WRs we want someone who can actually contribute. We have enough guys with 'potential'

Nothing special about him...he would keep the benches nice and warm for us though

Do you think Nate Washington could contribute?...because I think he most definitely could. Washington has potential...but still put up good production from the QB thin and run heavy Tennessee Titans, including a 1000 yard season in 2011. We could give up one of ur three 6th round picks in order to get him than extend his contract to have a lower cap hit. I would absolutely love if we did that...we have a lot of draft picks to work with so giving up a 6th or 7th is nothing.

He HAS contributed in the past and, if he still has his speed, he could be a cheap role player

No more castoffs from Buffalo. We should've learned from the Lee Evans fiasco.
