Let me get this straight. We save $1 mil, lose ANOTHER defensive starter who happened to be the players' representative....

So who is going to mentor? Who is going to "play like a Raven"? You got your way John. Is there anyone else in your doghouse? Pretty soon there won't be anybody left. You and Oz call it a "plan".

I call it a "rebuilding year". Thanks for the Super Bowl. Too bad the NFL takes the fans for granted.

What does this say to potential quality Free Agents considering coming to Baltimore? Hmmmm.....bad choice here. They make a contract with you and then kick you out the door. So much for the "Ravens Family Team" concept.

It's a shame to see the Ravens make a roster move based on a personal issue instead of a salary cap or a football issue. This is 100% personal. It makes no sense to let Pollard go. It doesn't make sense financially to let a 28 year old low-salaried player go who is the poster child of how to "Play Like A Raven." Harbaugh this is all on you.

Raven's fans..looks like we are going to have a few lean years...it's a good job we have a championship and a good quarterback to talk about because that may be it for this season!!!

Once again Ravens - impeccable timing on asking us for our ticket money. We're gutting our Defense and traded a beast of a WR who Flacco needed... now send us your season ticket money in March! The toughness of this Team is gone. Ray retired... Boldin brought it on the Offense and Pollard laid the wood for the Defense. I'll take two 15 yd penalties any game to show the other team the Ravens were going to hit them in the mouth. Well, we are the reigning Champs so, let's see what Ozzie has in store. Better be good...

Everyone needs to calm down. This happens every off season, and it always ends up for the best. Ihedigbo played well last year for Pollard, and is less of a penalty issue. If the worst thing that happens to us this year is we win one playoff game then get knocked out, then so be it. Just a couple weeks ago we all read an article saying that we werent going for 2 years of championships, but 5 years of consistent winning, and nobody complained then. Now that this is actually happening lets remember the motto that we've always lived by: "In Ozzie We Trust!"

I am sick of hearing what a genius Ozzie is. We cut Pollard who was dependable and rush to keep Damien Berry, Ramon Harewood and the always stellar David Reed?? I personally think Omar Brown will be great one day but to lose both starting safeties and 3 linebackers and our number one receiver plus probably our left tackle is pretty bad!

Doesn't it depend who we replace them with? You guys have some serious knee jerk reactions. The same left tackle that sat for 16 games this season? The same solid SS that have up play after play in the Super Bowl?

You resign David Reed but let Pollard walk only saving $1M. Head scratching move. Now Reed visiting Texans. I like Joe and the offense may still be able to produce without Boldin, but stripping the defense just doesn't make sense. Can offense carry team without a guy like Boldin?

Now that Ray Lewis is gone, I wonder if in the future it will be hard to sell players coming to the Ravens cheap. I get its a business but treating Boldin and Pollard that way along with the fact Harbs is known to put players in the doghouse, why would you come or stay a Raven for cheap.
1. Trade Boldin for a 6th pick
2. Kept best LT off field bulk of the season after cutting his pay
3. Cutting Pollard out of the blue. A leader on the team.
4. Letting HOF and possibly best saftey of all time visit other teams before one phone call

Not inspiring good vets to join Ravens or young guys who will develop to stay.
Always a fan, but this just seem unnecessarily cold.

Cutting Pollard after giving him a 3 year extension last season, and going on and on about how he as much as anyone else embodies what it is to "Play Like a Raven", it just stinks to high heaven. There was literally no good reason for it. Do they REALLY think that Ihedigbo is going to fill in well? He may be a decent player, but it's a downgrade no matter how you try to spin it. And I'm sorry, with Boldin and now this, no matter how much I love my Ravens, and no matter how happy I am that we're Super Bowl Champs, Ozzie can kiss off.

This blind "In Ozzie We Trust" stuff is nonsense. It's called thinking for yourselves people, and me? I think they're riding TOO much on Joe's post-season performance, without realizing all the pieces that were there that ALLOWED him to play so well, and that includes the defense.

I really do Trust Ozzie because he has brought us the right Teams to win 2 Super Bowls :tmnt:& I believe in Ozzie's winning ways. It is just harder to do it honestly in this day and age.
Without cheating, which can be the only reason Bill Belichick has won more than 1 & has what is considered a Dynasty. Remember Jimmy Swaggart "I Have Sinned"! Yup, he admitted he Sinned, but ONLY after he was caught. Now lets be Real when it comes to cheaters. Where there is one, there are many, many more times when they were not caught. Enough said.

However, I am very Sorry to see 2 of my Favorite Players leave in Anquan Boldin & now one of our best pickups from the Texans in Hard Hitting Bernard Pollard. Unfortunately, I see the Team letting a whole lot more older players go as well & I predict Ed Reed will be another one since he rarely hand tackles anymore & because there are a big group in free Agency & the Draft to choose from.

The facts spoke about on 105.7 the Fan about how many games were started between Multi-Millionaires Danelle Ellerbe & Paul Kruger is absolutely true in the sense of how much starting experience they really have & I do not blame these very Good but Overrated players from going elsewhere to get their own paydays. I just am baffled as to why Kruger would want to play for the only Team in the League who has a Color as a mascot & it happens to be Poop Brown. I don't know, but UPS may want to sponsor this Team. I've heard all the Reasons why they are really the Browns, but that too is a farce, since the Brown Family owns the Bengals and has one of the Coolest Uniforms in the League, along with the Ravens. Pittsburgh unfortunately knocked themselves a hand full of Respect notches by wearing those Prison/Bumble Bee Uniforms this past year.

It appears that we are retooling from Scratch to best surround our new Full Featured QB. I really was not "Wacco for Flacco" since the pick, but I saw the Best in him once Cam Cameron was no longer choke collaring Joe. Quiet Jim Caldwell comes in and does what he did with Manning and plans for the game and then lets the QB run the Game, as they have the best feel for what is actually taking place on the field. Also, I love that Joe believe's in himself and sees himself as a #1 QB or that Super Bowl would have never been his. Joe reminds me of Johnny Unitas, in that he is not affected by the ebbs & flows, as well as the ups & downs of a football game, & that is what has finally made Joe Flacco a Great QB, as it made Johnny Unitas as the Greatest Field General to ever play the game. No disrespect to Joe Montana, as he played consistently in a new West Coast Offense, in which he would drop back 3 steps and drop short passes all day long & the defenses let him do it. The other part that made Joe Montana Great was that being the Human twig and body of Wes Welker, he continually took a beating and kept on ticking.

What most outsiders and even Pro-Football Commentators miss about ranking Joe Flacco, is that our Team is not designed to play catch up by throwing the heck out of the ball. If you play Fantasy Football, you will typically pick a Top QB without a Running Game or a QB from a losing team that plays from behind all the time. These are the very same QB's that are gun slingers & top picks for my Fantasy League Teams & they typically win the trips to the Pro-Bowl. Only the Best of these QB's have Won the Super Bowl & now Flacco is in there circle. Lets just hope that when he Retires that he does not go into the Announcers Booth.

-----------> Last but not least is the Super Bowl Light Outage with Sooooo Much $$$ on this game , a TD Return by Jacoby Jones and the 4 & out by the 49er's, after the lights turned back on fine after the Beyonce' Concert. Here is my response to the NFL's poor excuse as to what happened to the "Lighting Electrical Supply Overload Protection" being out of calibration & that it had tripped several times earlier in the week. Common, are they for real & who do they think they are Outsmarting, Really? If they really knew there was a problem, they would simply put a Amp meter on both banks of Service and compared and adjusted them both for Correct Operation since Lighting is a Resistive Load, which does Not Spike when turned On. Being a Resistive Load makes the Start-up repeat-ability of the Lighting to be very consistent and if they really had a problem, the Lights would have tripped at the beginning of filling the Stadium & again after the Beyonce' Concert. If you are in the Business of Electrical Overload Protection & types of Electrical Loads as I do, then you would easily know that someone definitely went out to the Vault and tripped 1 bank of the Lighting Service. as anyone with knowledge of how important it is to keep yourself limber, the older you get, because your body would stiffen and your reflexes would slow down. A much younger Team like the 49er's would have no such problems. It's really simple to understand because Lights do not pull Full load Amps like Pumps, Fans or any other Motor that needs a boost of Electricity to start.

Enough Said in my short Novella!

Gooooooo Ravens!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought they wasn`t going to repeat what happened in 2000? But thats exactly what`s happening! REBUILD MODE.
Actually, no. In 2000 we kept around most of our roster. With the exception of Trent Dilfer and ....[someone else I'm forgetting, Kim Herring, and someone else?] We kept Rod Woodson, we kept Siragusa, we kept Burnett, we kept McCrary, we kept Sam Adams. Shannon Sharpe. We kept a lot of those old veterans, and let them retire on the team, or well: demonstrate that they were over the hill in 2001 and 2002.

When players retire, you have dead cap space. What we're doing is pre-emptively giving snaps to potential talent as opposed to guys who will probably be over the hill next year, or in 2014.

I still think we can easily repeat. Joe Flacco is a serious contender. I don't know if you guys were watching what happened when he was in control of the tempo and play-calling.

Actually Anquan said he has nothing bad to say about the Ravens at all. That we're #1 a class organization. We traded Anquan because otherwise he would have been cut. Had he been cut, we'd have to deal with dead money. Basically, we traded dead money for a 6th round pick.

And best of all: we traded Anquan Boldin to a very, very good football team. It would have been shameful had we traded Boldin to the Dolphins for, say, a 4th rounder or to some other team in need of a WR. We didn't do that. Anquan is glad to be a niner.

As for Pollard, he might play with veracity and hunger: but he doesn't know how to cover. I mean, he was an upgrade over Dawan Landry, but I'm excited to see what safeties we draft or sign. Pollard graded very poorly for a lot of games last year. Big hits impress people, though. One big hit does not outweigh lapses in coverage like in the Superbowl.

Not sure what it means to"play like a Raven" anymore. I guess we blowing up the team now to be contenders in 3 years instead of contending now for 3 years then blowing up the team. Dont know whats worse. Seems like a youth shift is going on in the AFC North. We couldnt even trade BP for something? Could've gotten last round pick... Scared and yet excited to see were this is heading. I guess it was the great coaching that won us the SB.

OK, I love Ozzie and all that, but its pretty much official.....He's blowing up the Super Bowl Champions.
The key players of that playoff run are still on the team. Apart of Boldin of course.

I am not too concerned. The Ravens get younger and healthier, which were two major concerns last season and most of the major contributers on the team still remain on it. Stars like Flacco, Rice, Torrey, Pitta, Suggs, Ngata, Webb and emerging players like KO, Pierce, Graham or Upshaw. I am sorry but most of the teams in the NFL don't have half as many playmakers to build a team around.

The entire AFC North will finish 8-8 next year. Cutting Pollard only gives 1 million in cap relief, so why cut him? We now know that Reed is going to Houston. Who is getting released next? Ngata? Rice? Flacco? Suggs? All of the above? Where can I get a Boldin 49'ers jersey?

Well, that gives the Ravens a good shot at making the playoffs for the sixth straight year.
