Bernard Pollard released

529 posts in this topic

Our leadership on defense is Suggs, Webb, and Ngata.

However, they have something in the fold if this is true that he is released. No doubt about it in my mind. Can't believe this is true.

maybe someone hacked him LOL

His cap hit is 3.25 with 2.25 in dead money why would we cut our tough starting SS for 1 million dollars in savings when we are already thin at Safety?

I really want to know why we released Pollard. I'm not mad. I'm very surprised. I know Pollard's not the best in coverage but he hit like nobody's business. He took guys out. And we don't save a lot from this move.

This is extremely perplexing. I understood Boldin but this is a surprise.

We now have no veteran leadership for our secondary except Ihedigbo & Webb.

We save 1 mil? His leadership, toughness, play on the field far exceeds that. He is not even old either.

Wow. I was alright so far. I understood not overpaying for Ellerbe & Kruger. I even understood the business side of the Boldin trade. This, though. makes no sense. We're still on the hook for $2 mil of his salary so basically we only save $1 mil here. Peanuts. And if we go to the trouble of trading Boldin, I can't believe if this is the way we were going we couldn't find someone willing to trade for Pollard.

Wow. Really hope his account was hacked.

He did get abused in the Super Bowl, but he was playing with cracked ribs!

I really don't get this move, I hope Ozzie addresses these moves soon so I can understand the thinking behind them.

Okay, I don't really understand caps or dead money or anything like that, I'm SO ridiculous not a math person, but is it possible we did this to sign him back to like, lessen the impact or something?

Everything else was okay because they cost too much or are past their prime. BUT Pollard was cheap and he is only 28! Why would we ever release him and not trade him? This makes absolutely no sense. Come on Ozzie!!! This is getting out of hand

We can't control teams overpaying for our FA's.

But trading Boldin for a 6th and realeasing Pollard and only saving 1M?! I hate these moves

We only saved 1 million. Which is extremely low price for him.
