He was making a little less than a million this past season according to his wikipedia page. I have always been a fan of the guy and he has tremendous ability. I wouldnt mind him stepping in and helping out the front 3. He can hold down the NT or DE spot. Ngata, Seymour, McPhee/Jones would be nice. I feel like we are going for a youth movement though and he's 33. Would really really like to see him on the team though. He's expected to take a pay cut too

I don't see Seymour fitting with the signing of Canty. Our next move should be to resign Reed and/or an ILB

To be honest this is who I thought the FO would target, but I like the Canty signing better.

Forgot about Canty. Would have rather had Seymour but Canty is probably younger, but I dont really know, just assuming he is

Canty is 30, so 3 years younger than Seymour. Seymour was the prototype for a 34 DE but that was about 4 years ago. Canty offers more now as a player and interior rusher.

Have you seen Seymour play? It's doubtful the move happens but Seymour can still ball.

NFL.com and others have been hyping Mike Wallace as the top free agent this year. Not sure why. Dude is lazy and drops the ball. Never seen him do anything except run fast or catch a ball on a broken play because of that overweight truck playing QB

Well, he can still play. But if the people in OAKLAND wanted him gone.... Well, I rest my case. They wanted him out.

I don't know where he would exactly fit but for a cheap 1-2 year deal I would be all aboard.

Good veteran presence, rotational guy who I'm pretty sure can play all over the line. Also solid depth.

That's a pretty flimsy case. They wanted him gone because he got a ridiculous contract. For the right price, he can still be a quality contributor. But I doubt Ozzie and company attempt to woo him, so that's a moot point.

Let me say this again..

He was one of the few bright spots on Oakland's team this year. And they STILL wanted him gone.

There is no doubt the guy can ball, but with Canty, I don't see it...

I also don't like his reputation. I hear he is greedy..

I trust Oz, I am not for it, but if he does it, I won't complain

Just a side note, not sure if this was mentioned...

Anyone remember when Seymour punched Ben? Not saying I condone that behavior BUT... I definitely didn't hate seeing that!

I agree completely. The only drawbacks with Seymour IMO at least are his mandatory penalties at least a few times a season and his pricetag.

To be fair to the new GM Reggie McKenzie, he has to clean up the mess Al Davis left there, whether it be lack of draft picks (Palmer trade), crazy contracts/cap hell, etc....

But with Canty here, I highly doubt we get Seymour.
