Just b/c he was hurt this year doesn't mean he will be next season. It's like your wishing an injury on him if he's not a Raven next season. Very cool.

I thought he had proved it last year with the SB win...
Didnt know he played in that game...or if he personally pushed cam cameron out if he did one of those two sure. When u lose 9 starters from a SB team 2/3 of those guys having backups with almost no real nfl game time it means a lot

So if he leaves, that's what 9 starters/big contributors that have left?!? Damn, it sucks to be the king!!!
This is why it's so difficult to repeat . Many of our free agent values went up with the Super Bowl run by millions !

Man, Ellerbe leaving will be huge. I felt we could bounce back from Q leaving. But Ellerbe? Who else do we have in the middle? I can see us losing Ellerbe, Q, and Kruger but keeping Williams and Reed. Gulp...

This is kinda funny. Throughout the later half of the season and especially in the playoffs, everyone was riding Ellerbe's jock. He was a must-sign then! Now that there is a possibility he'll be gone, he's injury prone, average, and easily replaceable. Pretty funny, right?

I think Ellerbe is a great player. However, I don't want to see us overpay for him. MLB isn't a huge need in the NFL, not as impact as it used to be. If he signed a deal similar to Jameel's, I would love to have him back. But not at double that cost.

Same with Boldin as well.

People always called him injury prone. I think people are now just thinking that LBs who leave us are normally not as successful as they were here

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the hyprocrisy. Although some people just try and look on the bright side.

I don't agree with your sentiments. I still think Ellerbe is a good football player and would love him here, but not at the price of 5-6M. I think that's too steep. He is injury-prone. I wouldn't call him average or easily replaceable. I also believed we could easily re-sign him, but the more thinking I did my mind gravitated away from that belief. I slowly changed my opinion that he wouldn't be such a lock as others seemed to be assured.

It's a shame we will lose Ellerbe, but we will be fine, I believe. I'm not happy about it, but it is the business.

I said nothing about his cost... Just that the entire board changed its opinion on him now that he MIGHT go elsewhere.

I think he's going to stay, now that Kruger's gone. More money available for BAL.
Kruger was never going to be resigned , not sure what people don't see about that. He wanted way too much for a one dimenisional player

Reading on Colts forum, take it what it's worth-that colts are offering 6-8 million a year
If that's true, we can only hope he would rather stay here for less (highly doubtful). He isn't worth more than 5, no way we pay more.
Agreed, even Kruger I wouldn't pay 8 million a year. It will be sad to see them go but at those rates, it's not worth it.

Extremely. Folks acting like we're losing Pat Willis.

Wasn't the whole purpose of trading/cutting Boldin because of Ellerbe??

Would it be safe to say Boldin would still be here if we knew we were gonna lose Ellerbe

If we "lose" Ellerbe, Kruger and Reed (whether we lose or opt not to sign) and then traded Boldin I will be PISSED!!!
