Irrelevant update from SF!
So they are happy bc they got an "elite WR". So the bandwagon fans were all over me and the other ravens fan at my school.. Saying "we have no chance at the playoffs"...

It's hilarious. I don't think Boldin contributes at all for them, and Ozzie gets a steal in the 6th, just to rub it in their face.

They just got their ring for the best offseason.... Congrats.

They were partying after school lol. Saying
"SUPER BOWL BABY"

I walked by with a smirk on my face.

So while we are super pissed, they are preparing for the parade.............

They lost the trade... Just saying

While I think trading Boldin was the correct move from a business standpoint, I completely disagree with saying they lost the trade. They gave up a 6th round pick and still have 14 picks left in this draft. The practically got Boldin for nothing. They only traded so they could secure his services and not have to bid on him in the open market.

They have to worry about the Hawks, who in my opinion are better after that trade. Russell, throwing to Rice and Harvin with Lynch in the backfield. Good luck to the cornerless 49ers

Boldin is a fairly low-risk one year rental for them. That said, I'm not sure he actually makes them better. But I wouldn't say they lost the trade, given that they have draft picks to burn.

Thank goodness we play no pistol QBs this year. Plus, guys like Kaep and Wilson may fizzle. Remember how great Can Newton looked before disappearing

How in god's name is getting Boldin for a 6th round pick losing the trade? 6th round plugs get cut all the time, Boldin will contribute on the field. I'd say thats about as good of a deal SF can get considering they have the cap space for Boldin.

Cam was great at the end of the season though. I still trust him more than the other running QBs because he's built like a tank.

News flash.
Ozzie doesn't cut picks, and he usually is at his best in the bottom of the draft. Often will find solid players. Which is what great teams revolve around..

Boldin is a rental. Cannot get seperation from CBs. There is no burner in SF to mask it either.

He is a weapon, but a short term one.

Seattle is going to eat that team up like a dog with a bone. If I were them, I wouldn't be looking for another WR, rather another CB

They got a great complement to Crabtree but thats it, they can crown themselves the paper champs but they know who holds the title.

You cannot say that they won that either.

Boldin is a RENTAL. He is old.
Our sixth rounder could become a solid contributer.

He prob won't be back next season, and if they do not win the SB(which they will not, seattle will eat them alive), the trade is a failure.

We on the other hand now have the money (if I did the math correctly) to go out and get virtually anyone we want (that is avaliable, Dummerville, Barwin, DJ. Hell, maybe Jake Long and Jennings even).

If we go out and get, say a Greg Jennings, or a Danario Alexander with the money we save. We are the big winners of the trade...

It really depends on what Ozzie does with this newfound cap

They essentially traded a 6th round pick for a 32 year old slot receiver being paid like a number one that will most likely not be there next year. That doesn't seem like a victory to me.

They're going all in for the SB win this year. They haven't lost much and have already gained a quite valuable player in Q. That 6th round pick was 1 of 14 that they had, so it was clearly expendable. SF clearly won.

Manningham is coming back off injury. Boldin would be their #3 unless A.J. Jenkins pans out. And they rarely used 3 or 4 WR sets. If they want any use out of him, they'll need to take their fullback out, but they are a very fullback-heavy offense. Would they use a no-RB set when they're based on the read-option? Would they take Vernon Davis out? Sorry, but I don't see what they gain here. If anything, it doesn't even make up for the loss of Moss.

Besides, what if we draft a good player with that pick?
