I could see giants going for him
They usually only go after guys who can block at tight end so I think we're safe from the Giants. I am worried that someone with a late 2nd might try though.

I think cook of Tennessee will draw more interest than pitta , I wouldn't be worried

It's a quality FA TE market as well as draft. I just don't see anyone taking Pitta with a 2nd. People get too scared around here. Can it happen? Sure. I doubt it does.

I'm about 75% sure Pitta isn't taken from us.

Hearing Ramon Harewood, David Reed, and Morgan Cox all expected to be non-tendered, resigned. Apparently the Ravens are interested in trying to get a multi-year deal for Cox before they make the decision to non-tender him.
why in the world are they giving david reed more money christ.

Jared Cook? Dustin Keller? Those are good players. Tony G? I don't think he's retiring, buddy. Ertz? Eifert? Great players. Escobar, Fauria, Reed, heck--Sims? Nice prospects. Don't kid yourself.

Delanie Walker's a nice TE, too. Those are just the first guys I can think of right now.

Pitta is far better than all of them outside of Cook and Bennett
Yeah, but save for Eifert and Ertz most likely, teams won't have to give up a 2nd round pick for any of them. It's highly unlikely Pitta gets an offer sheet.

Keller's a very nice TE. Delanie Walker doesn't have Pitta's hands but Pitta cannot block like Walker. Not even close.

I'd like to see us get Dallas Clark. I would really like that signing.

I doubt Pitta goes anywhere codizzle. You gotta remember, Pitta and his agent have to want to go somewhere else too. Pitta and Flacco are like bff's. lol. Just the way i see it.

I never said he would go anywhere

I said I think someone may go after him that doesnt mean he would sign with them at all..

Now I'm just defending my point

I'll take Pitta over the top rated TE of this draft, any day. Proven talent beats potential talent.
I agree. Plus he is best friends with Flacco which must have an effect on his play and it helps locker room chemistry as well. Even if he is given an offer 1. He doesn't have to take it 2. Ravens can still match the offer. Pitta is good but no team will front load a contract we can't afford just to steal him.

Anyone have a cap number before the tenders with Boldin gone?
I think it's at 20 million or around there. The Tenders add up to 5.37 million.

EDIT: Our total cap is 108.959 and with our adjusted maximum of 123.678; We have 14.719 million in total space after tenders. Not a lot of wiggle room considering the draft will probably take up around another 5 and we are trying to sign Ellerbe.

Ha ha. They all love it here until you show them the money$$$.

Anyway, Dennis Pitta is a decent player but I doubt he's at the top of the 'To Do' list. The Ravens have more important issues to resolve at this time.

Well yeah, but we would more than likely match whatever the offer is, unless its something completely crazy, which wouldn't happen.

Dennis Pitta - 2nd Round Tender
Arthur Jones - 2nd Round Tender
Eric Dickson - Original Tender

Just the way I predicted. 2010 Draft was brutal, but at least we got two productive players out of it in Pitta and Jones.

I doubt a team will try to get Pitta because we also have the chance to match it. The free agent class and draft class offer some solid talents. I hope Ozzie finds a way to sign Pitta long term now that Boldin is gone. A 4 year contract $22 M similar to Aaron Hernandez contract wouldn't be so bad. Pitta can play Boldin's possession type role, while we let our burners out.
