[News] Reports: Anquan Boldin Traded For Sixth-Round Pick

1,132 posts in this topic

Hey maybe if Flacco's agent didn't force the Ravens to make Flacco the highest paid NFL player in history we could have easily resigned Boldin. Flacco is my man but he makes like 8 million more a year than Brady, come on dude.

Why do people not seem to understand that Boldin was getting cut tomorrow for nothing... A 6th round pick is a pick. We had no leverage and got something instead of nothing. Now go sign Denario Alexander and watch Flacco light it up with two #1 receivers...

Terrible trade! I'm legitimately pissed at our front office for the first time ever. We better go after Jennings or Wallace but I doubt that happens. I don't see a legit replacement anywhere on our roster or in the draft. I'm gonna go break something now.

the tandon doss comment up there made me shudder, this is ridiculous. we need to make a move for percy harvin or trade up for tavon austin. and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD since we cleared up some cap space here, get joe some protection, at the very least re-sign mckinnie. i gotta say i dont support this move, i just hope they make the most of it

These guys in the front office are going to have egg all over there face when we miss the playoffs for the first time in five years, and Joe's QBR looks even worse with out anyone to make clutch 3rd down catches. Boldin, you should spit in everyone's eye on the way out.

I agree with everyone being upset. Q will be missed. However, EVERYONE is missing the big picture.....we just CLEARED UP 7 MILLION towards the cap. We will be signing someone now...My hope is Jake Long at LT. That would make everyone feel better. The best and NOW health LT in free agency.

Why? Re-sign McKinnie for 1/8th the price and go get playmakers

Some former Ravens 6th Round Picks:

LB Adalius Thomas, RB Chester Taylor, QB Derek Anderson, P Sam Koch, LB Prescott Burgess, S Haruki Nakamura, QB Tyrod Taylor

Remember how well the Ravens draft folks!!! It sucks to lose Boldin, but they needed to free up some cap space to sign other positions in which we don't have the depth that we have at WR!!!

Heartbroken, absolutely heartbroken.
The ONLY upside is that, outside of another SB he won't have to play against us this year.

I am hearing the same kind of outrage that I heard we let go of JJ, Mason, Grubbs and Heap.

Oh no, we'll never win another game.

Turned out pretty well I think.

Steelraven, I agree that SF has a deadly arsenal of weapons now that they got Boldin. I don't know if you heard that Seattle just got Percy Harvin from the Vikings. I don't know about you but Seattle is the team to beat right now, probably followed by SF.

So sad to see Boldin go. He deserved to play out his last year. I know his regular season totals are not spectacular especially the 4TDs this past season but he was being used more and more once Caldwell was calling the shots. I am not gonna scream dumb move but I am definitely shocked and a tad worried.
[/quote]SF is the team to beat right now, Percy Harvin is just one player and I like Russell Wilson, nice guy and I went to NCSU with him but, 49ers defense is stout and the offense is even deadlier with Boldin, and they have a lot of early draft picks

If nothing else, I hope this means they allow LaQuan Williams to COMPETE for a starting spot, instead of bringing in an overpriced (and less talented) vet, or just giving the job to Doss, who honestly has not lived up to his hype.

Have we resigned ourselves to rebuilding? What in the world is going on with our front office staff? First, we can't manage our cap space and we sign Flacco to a blockbuster deal with the hope that we resign our stars, and then we trade Boldin for a 6th rounder to a SB opponent? And this SB opponent was torched by Boldin! And this SB opponent has 15 picks of which we were only able to get a 6th rounder? What?????????????????

The only think I can possibly think of is that the front office has their eye on someone big in free agency and they wanted money to get him - I just really hope it wasn't Kruger or Ellerbe. One guy is not a starter and the other guy can't stay healthy.

here come all the crying Ravens fans who have no faith in the front office. If you keep Boldin you cannot afford anyone on D. Is that what you want? we drafted Doss and Laquan for a reason right? not to sit on the bench. When we drafted Torrey smith everyone was up in arms and look what happened? we will draft a WR or we will be patient like we always are and pick up a vet that gets cut to be the next possession WR. I applaud this move and I am glad we got something rather than nothing

I agree to some extent. But check it out - he only had one season left. Now someone said something about using this extra pick to trade up...that could turn out to be a very wise move if that's what they've got up their sleeve.

Boldin is a Raven at heart. I wish him well. The preseason will be awesome. Can't get here soon enough. Many more changes to come. Bet on it.
