1,132 posts in this topic

i think this is the second horrrible deal the ravens has made this offseason. the first was paying joe flacco that much and i must say what is going on right now..... why would you trade the person that was a huge aspect in ur superbowl run to the team that you faced in the superbowl... it just doenst make sence to me..... can someone explain it.

Everybody calm down, we knew going in to this that it was gonna be we resign him for a lower cap number or release him. At least this way we got something in return too. Let's all trust that Ozzie knows more than all of us like we always do.

Should have gotten more than only a sixth round pick in return, imo.

Ozzie screwed this up. San Francisco has 15 picks in this draft and you trade the best WR on our squad for a 6th?

He just finished destroying their secondary in the superbowl: 6 catches, 104 yards. He's worth way more than that, particularly to us!

Not to mention that his cap number was not that big of a deal, and even if youre scared of his production declining...he's got ONE more year left. let him play it out and then walk next season, that sixth round pick aint about to do nothin for us! Stupid...

this team won't be the same! First of all the Flacco contrat is a real joke and now we suffer from it!! I'm a french canadian fan that make 14 hours to watch a game live 1 to 2 times per years! We won't make the playoff next year! we lost ray, kruger, boldin and probably reed... bad bad bad news

I would rather have him just retired a Raven rather than throw him to the already stacked 49er's for a SIXTH round pick....

this is unbelievable. i get the business and money side of the NFL, but as a fan, this still hurts. trading away our 2nd MVP for a 6th round pick to save 2 mill. i just don't get it. Thank you Q for the 4 years of sheer ballin you gave to us. Good luck with your future. I am sad to see you go but I am happy for you as well.

All this says to me is that the Ravens were serious when they told him to take a pay cut or get cut on Tuesday. They believed him when he said he wouldn't take the cut, and the Ravens are at least smart enough to get something out of it. So it comes down to the front office thinking that the cap room would be better spent on a guy like Ellerbe. Personally I would have cut Leach to open up that cap room, but who's to say we won't end up doing that anyways. I guess this makes the reports linking us to Danny Amendola make a lot more sense.

A sixth round pick for Q is sickening. Are we planning on making a run at Wallace, or are we looking at the newbies? I don't know about everyone else, but I don't have much faith in Doss(Kid has no hands), Williams, and Streeter.

Steelraven, I agree that SF has a deadly arsenal of weapons now that they got Boldin. I don't know if you heard that Seattle just got Percy Harvin from the Vikings. I don't know about you but Seattle is the team to beat right now, probably followed by SF.

So sad to see Boldin go. He deserved to play out his last year. I know his regular season totals are not spectacular especially the 4TDs this past season but he was being used more and more once Caldwell was calling the shots. I am not gonna scream dumb move but I am definitely shocked and a tad worried.

This season will be interesting to say the least. The organization must have been bent on releasing him if they couldn't restructure. I have to side with Anquan on this one. He shouldn't have to take less pay for a lights out playoff / SB performance. Without him the Ravens wouldn't have got it done.

But if they were going to release him, better that they got another draft pick.

I sure hope they can re-sign some key guys after letting a solid player go.

The 49ers have double digit picks... We could have gotten a 4th and a 6th or something like that and I would have at least fel a little better??????

WHat ?

Tommy Streeter must have looked really good on the scout teams. That's the only way I can make sense of this.

Really Ravens??? I love my boys, but c'mon. Do you not want to try and repeat?? And for a 6th rounder??? Disrespectful to a man who without him, there would be no Superbowl #Disgusted

I think we're going to regret that trade BIG time, especially if we were to see the 9ers in the Super Bowl. I really wanna believe that this was some sort of strategic move by the front office, but I can't see it right now.

I agree with everyone being upset. Q will be missed. However, EVERYONE is missing the big picture.....we just CLEARED UP 7 MILLION towards the cap. We will be signing someone now...My hope is Jake Long at LT. That would make everyone feel better. The best and NOW health LT in free agency.
