What are the odds of James Harrison being a Raven?

I'd take him for the right price, I mean he's a better pass rusher than Suggs and Upshaw so theres that.

watch it Blood, I didn't see Harrison as the DPOY last season. The man is old and winding down. Not to mention he's a penalty magnet

We need YOUNG guys who will be able to play with us for years, not an old often-injured guy with maybe a year or two left in his proverbial gas tank.

I think it would be a great idea. Harrison, in a Ravens uniform, chasing after Big Ben would be a marvelous thing indeed.

Sign him up ASAP.

I'd like to see Harrison with us. Maybe it would work out; he may not get a really great offer from another team.

No, no, no, no. first off the dude is old and collecting injuries rapidly. second he was the face of the steelers defense we hated for several years, no way we bring him in or he even wants to come here. i expect him to end up on some garbage team like the bills or jags

Harrison is a dirty cheap shot artist. Worse than that, he was a dirty cheap shot artist in a Steelers uniform. If he signs for the Ravens I will feel like puking.

John Clayton just said on Mike & Mike that the Ravens are suitors for Harrison....he's basing that on losing Kruger Williams and Reed

I would feel disgusted if James Harrison was a Raven (again). His mentality does not fit the mold of a Raven.

It would be a nice fit. I mean, Harrison has been injured a lot, true. But he is a proven pass rusher. He has been a dominant player. He is a good football player. Not a fan of his attitude, but for the price and the fact that we won't lose a comp pick for bringing him here regardless of the price I like the signing. But, I don't want to overpay. So, I really am not sure we sign him here.

I hate to say this but we actually do have a need he will fill IF he stops acting like Mckinnie and showing up out of shape like he did last year. With the way our defense is going to be shaped we need pressure. We do not know in what shape Webb will come back, Reed might be gone and getting to the QB fast would always make the CB's and Safeties job easier.

I don't understand why people are saying don't bring in Harrison. He was the face of the Steelers defense and he was in the a Steelers uniform against us etc etc. Key word there is "was". It's not like he is a mole who the Steelers let go to spy on and then bring back. He is a football player who in my opinion can still play. I don't see anything wrong with bringing him in. Heck he could end up playing harder against the team who released him and laying out some massive hits on those guys. Now who wouldn't want that?

Me feeling is due to him being a target of Goodells and what appears to be a pretty worthless human being. Other than that, he seems top notch ;)

When did we lose Reed?

The Harrison stuff all depends on how much he wants. He wouldn't take a paycut from 6.5mil that included incentives to make it all back in bonus money. I dont know how much Harrison thinks he's worth but its certainly not in the 6.5mil range. Having said that, the guy can still stop the run and get after the passer, he's been one of the most effective pass rushers the last 6 years in the league that I can think of. When healthy he's devastating, Woodley isn't even half the player Harrison is when Harrison is healthy.

Off the field and away from the game he does alot of charity work
I compare the pursuit of harrison to sf and Dallas sharing charles haley, ken norton jr and even Deion sanders
Yes you spent time hating the guy but if he helps us win then ill suspend my hate
Hell we had rod Woodson help us before, granted the rivalry between Baltimore and Pitt wasn't as intense
But nevertheless we did this before.

To me its like Joey porter and Greg Lloyd hated them in terms of how they acted but respected the way they played the game. Lloyd being before the ravens days I don't feel so guilty about lol

No, he was part of the reason I hated the Steelers, he is a dirty player and has no respect for any other player on the field.

I think the majority of the fanbase isn't opposed to the signing for fear of espionage, but rather they really feel he was a dirty player. To be honest I never saw him hit anyone after the whistle or spit in another player's face to constitute the "dirty" badge being placed on him, instead I saw him as an incredibly violent player. Sure he's old and he's not in our long-term plans but a Suggs/Harrison combo could be potentially devastating

What if the rumors mentioned in today's LFW article about Upshaw shifting to ILB are true? This would open the OLB spot for a Harrison/McClellan combo meal...I'd feast on that.

I don't know what the odds were, but with the release of Pollard, I'm not ruling anything out. The odds of Harrison here just went up drastically IMO, just because, we're in the Twilight Zone right now.

Apparently they're still in touch and are scheduled to talk again on Saturday. Given our situation and the fact that he'd probably be cheap, i wouldn't mind him as a stopgap for a year or two

Now that I've gotten over the initial shock of us talking to Harrison, I have to say it'd be pretty cool to have him here. He and Suggs could wreck quarterbacks if they're healthy. Just don't know if Harrison can stay healthy.

Though, it's weird for us to cut Pollard for being a head case, and then pursue Harrison.

exactly the same thoughts here lol... warming up at the scene of harisson planting ben into the turf at ketchup field... him opposite sizzle just sounds bad (in a good way lol)

Is it good karma to sign a former Steeler? Does it make sense to bring him into our locker room?

karma hmmm, really a tough one to predict indeed... might give us some good hints on the pitts' D... he'd be told flat from start he needs to play the team game (though i bet all players know that by now with the pollard incident)
