I've heard victor Cruz's name thrown around. What's the chance of that $ wise? Obviously pick 32 could be worth spending but I don't know the $ facts.

I love Boldin but he's an aging WR who couldn't get separation to save his life last season playing versus #2 CBs because Torrey commanded the #1 coverage. I wish he could have finished his contract here. It wasn't to be. Either they are going to pay Ellerbe more than he's worth or they have their eye on someone in FA. We'll know soon enough.

Personally, if I'm the Ravens, I offer Cruz the $4million Q turned down. If nothing else, to make the Giants spend more money than the $2.86million they have to pay Cruz for the 1st Rnd tender. And if, for some unbelievable reason, no one else offers more and the Giants refuse to pay, we get Victor Cruz for $4million and lose the 32nd pick in the draft (that low, it's like giving up a 2nd round pick anyway). I'll take that deal all day long.

I think they would too, which just means we force other teams to spend more money AND lose a 1st round pick. But there's also a chance (however slim) that no one else does ... because they also have to give up a 1st round pick ... and one of the things the "pundits" have talked about in the past is how teams hate to deal with players that have a tender attached to them because you end up going through the time and trouble of negotiations just to have the players current team swoop in and match it.

I understand everyone's first reaction, but let's be honest, after the circus of the past few days with Q and his contract getting a sixth round pick and clearing ourselves of his entire contract is a pretty good result.

Had the world not known about the Ravens requesting Q to take a lower salary, and him denying that request, then he has value. But every team and fan in the league knew that happened, and they all knew he was going to get cut. So why give up anything of value in return for someone they can get in free agency? And from the ravens perspective, why cut him and keep him (partially) on the books when you can trade him, clear the salary entirely, and get something (if anything) in return?

I'm still not happy with it but it's done and could certainly have been worse.

That said, I think the Tandon Doss stepping up talk is overblown. I think this effects Dennis Pitta more than anyone else on our roster. He already has a strong rapport with Joe and he makes the same tough, chain moving catches that Q made for us. I expect our TE's are going to play a much bigger role for us next year.

I don't necessarily. I go into every single season believing we'll be there in the thick of things in the post season. I won't spend my time wishing another ring on Q if we're the other team in the SB.
