Blame the shock but who is he? The TE from Pittsburgh? Never say never. Don't trust what players say.

he played FB for the patriots

Jacoby Jones couldn't play second fiddle to Andre Johnson. You really think Torrey is going to help him? I think you, along with most of the fans, overestimate our players.

Nope. We just traded Andre Johnson, apparently.

But Grim. According to the rest of the NFL fans, all Flacco did was lob it to him. He was the only reason we won a SB

Boldin can't get any separation. I thought this was common knowledge.

he doesn't need to get separation he just catches the ball and runs for extra yards regardless of who is on him.

Also he looked pretty open for several of his touchdowns during the regular season

When you have Boldin you need a QB with a rocket arm who can deliver the ball in tight coverage because he's always covered.

He's great at beating up smaller DBs, but struggles greatly against bigger DBs in press coverage. It will be very interesting to see how he does against Seattle's big corners.

I like Boldin a lot and will miss his chemistry with Joe, but the team isn't going to fall in a ditch without him.

So, nobody's mad at Boldin for going back on his "word" and playing for another team if the Ravens didn't want him? Interesting.

Nice one-way street we have here.

What a huge mistake. Joe was overpaid.Watch his stats w/o Q in the lineup. I can't believe you let someone like this walk. I guess now that John has his trophy he's working on getting one for Jim. Q was every bit as valuable as Ray Rice was to the offense and I know Ray is valued at more than 6 million a year. How can you let the most valuable player the offense had in the playoffs walk for 2 million. You do what you have to and keep him. I said it a few weeks ago and I'll say it again, " Q was a must for this team." I want to see who stays now -Paul/ Ellerbe or both.

I won't lie, I am a little bit. He basically said he wouldn't play for the Ravens and then all of a sudden was going to hit the market. He also said he wasn't playing for money, but that changed fairly quickly too.

Food for thought. What if Boldin retires? What if he shows up in camp and decides to hang it up. He doesn't sound motivated now he has his ring

Then we get to hysterically laugh at SF

I am myself to be honest. I mean, he goes and makes this statement like "Oh, man. I love this football team. Never go elsewhere, baby." Then the Ravens say "Oh? Really? Hey, my man. Can you take a little less, bro? Like, 2? We got some bills to pay." And then he's all "2 dollars? What kind of bills does that pay?" And we're all "No, son. $2M less." And he's like "Listen up, I'm not taking a penny less and you can shove it" and we're like "Wha? You said you wouldn't leave us, maaaaan. What happened?"

Anyway, it's a business. I get it. Not happy Boldin's gone. Expected it. Saw it coming. Doesn't make it better. Optimistic about our young WRs, though. Not pessimistic about Doss. I'm OK. I'm happy for Anquan, too. I hate the team. But he gets to contend. He knows the division. Nice fit.

But he is at the end of his career. Not sure how long the tires can keep rolling and you have to get younger. Sorry to see him go.

Perhaps this was the plan...the plan all along. Brilliant, Harbs. Well played, Boldin.

Boldin was always open even when covered. That was the great thin about Boldin he could make contested catches even in traffic. Even when he got hit

He made some great contested catches during the season and even more so in the play-offs, but let's not pretend a good number of those grabs weren't just as much the result of pin-point accuracy. Let's also not forget that there were many occasions when his lack of separation hurt the offense.

These are my exact sentiments. Its all doom and gloom every time we cut someone, year after year. And year after year, everything turns out fine. I can't deny what Boldin has done for the team, but it was simply time to move on. I would have loved for him to retire a Raven, but we can't sacrifice a potential future piece to keep an aging receiver for 1 more year. I don't expect Doss to replicate Boldin, but he's not horrible as the boards here seem to think he is.

heart breaking news. Even more so that all we got for him was a sixth. :(

No, its not doom and gloom. I am not that guy. However, no one can argue he was an absolute beast this post season.

I would have LOVED to see him finish out his contract here, but it is what it is. Good luck Q.

I still don't get it, we have 6M extra in cap space after this trade, how will we use it? I think the team may try a late push to sign both Ellerbe & Kruger, that's the only thing that makes sense besides going after Wes Welker or going after Victor Cruz in RFA.

I'm still a saaaaaaad panda. If you met the guy in person you'd know why. Besides who else can go up and rip a guy's arm down with the ball for a TD? 9ers get a great leader. Not just a WR.

BOOOOO.

1) A 6th rounder? Come on!

2) Boldin is still a beast. It's no coincidence that we got rid of Cam and Q started beasting.

3) It's lame to get rid of Anquan over 2 million. Leach is much more replaceable and makes 4.5.

4) Nobody on this team is ready to be a #1 WR or be the leader of the WRs.

5) We better keep Ellerbe now.

6) The fans who just blindly trust whatever the Ravens do, and say you aren't a true fan if you question moves are annoying.

Totally agree

We have 6 million more in cap space now, we were $12M under before Anquan's release. All I'm saying is we have enough cap to try to keep Kruger & Ellerbe over Reed or sign Ellerbe/Reed while using our 1st Round Pick in RFA on Victor Cruz. Or we sign Wes Welker. I'm trying to think of reasons to justify letting Boldin go for ONLY a 6th Round pick. That is what has me more mad.
