Terrence Cody's offseason

149 posts in this topic

I think it was fair for Ozzie to call out our D-line, especially Cody and Ngata. Cody because he has regressed and couldn't earn a spot on the starting line up and Ngata because I honestly believe he played lazy the entire year despite being hurt! If they don't improve our defense will continue to decline!

It's a sink or swim year for Cody anyways. Front Office will be prepared by adding another player for the NT spot since Cody can underperform and is not back with the team or shows up and makes his value higher for free agency.

it was sink or swim for him last year and the year before...

we'll draft a top NT this year. It's over for Mount.

Considering he was drafted in 2010 I highly doubt after 2 seasons it was sink or swim. Now after how he played this last year, the upcoming season is going to greatly determine what direction the FO goes with Cody.

Can we not let this guy go ? He is a human rug. I know he is still under his first contract and is CHEAP and that means a lot around here but why not give a player who actually can play a chance to get some on field time and let Cody walk away, probably to the first fast food joint he can find. He is the most sluggish , laziest player i have ever seen on our Roster since it's onset. Almost ashamed of him wearing a Ravens Jersey. I think even Haloti is suffering at the expense of Cody. I bet if we starting making double cheeseburgers his incentive he might get a tad aggressive.. LOL

I couldn't find this posted anywhere, so if not... Cody will be missing OTA's because of hip surgery.

Not good for him at all. I'd be surprised if he does anything next season at this point.

Actually this could help. He could get so huge that he goes back to his Alabama days and is harder to move than he was last year lol.

Very true. Regardless, I'm hoping the team takes advantage of the DT depth in the draft and Cody is pushed down the depth chart next season (assuming he makes the final 53).

Without a doubt in my mind. Even with Tyson seeing more time in the rotation next year than last, adding in Canty, moving Ngata to NT all spell even less snaps for Cody next year I think at least.

If he couldn't see how he was gifted with coming to the Ravens, competing to add to our legacy, then it says alot about his character, specifically, a low motivational quotient.

He will be outperformed by hungrier players. That's the way it works.

Ask Arthur Jones.

Go Ravens

I think Arthur Jones should take Cody with him to train with his brother Bones Jones. That MMA technique helps hold leverage and help keep those O-line's hands from you.

Jones would've been a guy I would've try to extend, but that depends on his market value.

I mean someone has to help Cody. That youtube video the OP posted made cody look pathetic. For real you call that a workout??? Planks??? are you serious??? Dude looked like he had never been in the gym before. Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.

While I think Cody is an out of shape, bum player, it's a little ignorant to assume that one little youtube video is a good indicator of his entire offseason routine. That video showed a glimpse of one day's workout.

Yes, he needs to work out more. But, it is foolish to think that video encompasses his entire workout.

Mount Cody needs to gain weight. Muscle is heavier then fat. Just got to the Castle and work out.

I am sure that your Baltimore Ravens have the mental capacity to put muscle mass on a 300+ lb. NT.

Perhaps a bench/squat clause in his contract. At his age Cody can eat anything he wants, and add muscle mass if he gets of off his behind and wants it. It does not appear that this is motivated to do this.

It would extend his career, his life, and help him reduce and recover from injuries.

i think we should just let him become mt cody again. Conditioning isnt important because he wont be playing too often. I say let him get over 350 pounds and be Mt Cody for 15 plays a game. Thats how he would help us the most next year. Being a useless player with more stamina at 335 didnt work. He was 360-370 when he dominated at Bama

Landry's isolation exercises are useless for football, he carries too much excess bulk without the functional strength.

Edit: Cody can still take a lessons on work ethic and being a gym rat.

Heres a break down of Cody's contract http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens/terrence-cody/
According to this report we would only save 155.55 K if he was cut. I question if 155.55K is worth giving up on a 2nd draft pick. I can only see Cody being cut if he is outworked and outplayed (which is very possible). If he is cut, I can see him being a casualty of the last roster cut.

I cant believe how sloppy he looks. 3 years in the NFL and he still has double Ds? He's a lost cause.

Codys "workout" should not be considered a workout... that was embarrassing.
Also Laron Landry looks like he's just worried about how he looks, not his functionality on a football field

I agree on Landry, that workout is not impressive to me at all. He actually had pretty bad form on a couple of those lifts.
