Ravens Vs. Bengals

42 posts in this topic

Next up the Bengals, If we don't take the Bengal for granted (only beat the Jags) 1 of two more away games left. We can be 8-4. We play a tough schedule :

6-4 Skins
8-3 Squeelers
7-4 Boys
4-7 Jags

we'll only need 2/4 of those games to get wild card. or we can take the division. .

Lets take it one day at a time. The Bengals will be a tough task because they are statistically elimanted from the playoff race, Lewis's job is on the line, and Palmer might be back. They are going to play a very agressive game because they have NOTHING to lose anymore.

It's cliche', but neepo is 100% correct... we need to take it one day at a time and one game at a time. Let's handle our business against the Bungles, then worry about our next opponent. The Bungles were playing with the Steelers on Thursday night for about 2 and a half quarters, so they aren't going to be a push-over by any stretch.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not ready to think about next Sunday's game yet. It's time to enjoy the win and a great game right now!

You are right, I live Sunday to Sunday. Anticipation is build days in advance for me. We are 7-4 not bad for a "rebuilding" team everybody likes to call us. This was a very important win for us.

I love when people post a thread about the next week on Sunday just after we beat a team...

I know minds should be set for the next week, but just enjoy this win.

Redskins may very well lose this game in Seattle. Pittsburgh is a pretty evenly matched game, but at Dallas is going to be extremely tough to win; I don't have a good read on the Jaguars as I don't follow them at all. I know that they still have the talent and have been very competitive this year, but their record indicates that they are missing a few pieces. Finishing 3-2 is what we need, and I can easily see us either going 2-3 or 3-2 to decide the season.

I am with everybody else, lets just take this one game at a time or sunday to sunday. That was a great win against the Eagles, and the only thing I'm hoping for is for more Ravens to come off the injury list for the Bengals game. We have been missing key components to the team for most of the season and for us to have anybody come off the injury list or just move to Probable is a good thing for us. I'll start looking toward the Bengals by Thursday.

I agree. I hope the team does not take the Bengals for granted. At this point, they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by a win next Sunday. Honestly, I think Harbs will have the team ready to go next week! Unlike other posters, I am already thinking about next Sunday's game - while still savoring todays win! Go RAvens

I don't get this take it one Sunday at a time thing. We're fans, not players. The guys who are on the Ravens have to take it one game at a time because if they don't, they'll get taken advantage of by looking over any given game. As mere spectators, we should be able to look at the season in general terms and speculate possible implications, right?

The only reason I'd take things one week at a time is if I had to temper my expectations. Fortunately, I don't have that problem :)

They just got finished playing the damn game. Your right we are only fans. Our team just won, we should be able to celebrate the win without everybody jumping right to next week. Let the players worry about next week.

I'm just a pessimist by nature, forgive me. Whereas some people are content celebrating this win, I'm looking bottom line for the season.

It would prolly be better if we took this one game at a time and look at it as if were 7-4. Were already doing 2 games better than last season, with quite a few more winnable games. However we have one very winnable game right in front of us next week. We just cant overlook them and not come to play. If our D comes to play like it did today and our offense and S/T decides to help a little we should come away with a big W in our W and L column for the week, making us 3 games better than last season and 8-4. Then we look onto the next week.

I think we win against the Bungals obviously, I also think that we can edge out the Skins (in a tight game), I think we beat the Steelers at home (I MIGHT GET TICKETS!), I think we lose to the Boys

(this is going to be their last home game of the season, if you have played football before, you know that you never want to lose on your home turf at the LAST home game), I think we got the Jags in the bag.

so inother words I am saying 11-5! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

I am tired of hearing that "I am living Sunday to Sunday" bull crap. Your not the coach you dont have to be "politically correct". Sure you dont want to over look teams or as they say, "dont count your chickens

b4 they hatch" but still it doesnt hurt to look ahead, I mean hell you are not playing in the game, as long as the team doesnt look to far ahead then we will be fine. If you have superstitions then that is a

different story.

I see us winning next week against the Bungals, that makes us 8-4
The skins aint playing that well lately and at home we are great, i see us winning that as they establish the pass through the run so there offence wont get going. 9-4
Steelers at home, im looking forward to this so much, i say its close and we win so 10-4
A loss to the Cowboys as they tear up our secondary and a win at home vs Jags, so i see us going 11-5, winning the divison and headed to the playoffs, but we will take it one step at a time and look forward th next week.

Different strokes for different folks. I'd personally prefer, we didnt start looking down the schedule and counting wins and losses before the games are actually played but thats me.

I understand your thought, but a game within our own AFC North we should always be UP for. Cinncy and Cleveland are always tough opponents for us...........and they hate us as much as we do them.

We *could* take the division. The Squeelers have a really tough stretch and could lose more games than we do. I really see us winning at home vs the Skins. The only game I'm not sure about is the Cowboys on thursday night, Tony Romo is getting back into groove with T.O and with our pass D, I don't know. But playoffs is very get-able for us right now.

If the season ended today we would be in the playoffs. Both us and the Steelers have huge tests down the road. Lets win Sunday and go from there. 8-4 will allow us to look down the road a little more then 7-4 will.

You can not really go on what happened in past games all the time but that game Bengals vs Steeler's was horrible! If the Bengals play like that vs the Raven's the get out the broom and dust pan cause that was the sorriest NFL game I've seen this year! :o

True, but unfortunately it doesn't end today. I think the ravens can possibly win all the games left in the season. the hardest game would be the steelers game, though. But, if we can keep it close like we did at pittsburgh, that should translate to a win at home imo.

Why is this always being said? "If the season ended today" This is one of the dumbest statements made in sports media. It is meaningless cause whenever it is said you know that the season has not ended, so what is the point!?

I know people are still thinking playoffs. But we still have some hurdles. The Wildcard spot is no lock for us anymore. Indy has the easiest remaining schedule left out of anyone in the league and they hold the tiebreaker on us. So I can't see Indy getting ousted from the playoffs this year anymore. Patriots and Jets are starting to come around, and the Patriots are clipping at our heels. The only reason why we beat the Patriots in the tie, is due to conference record, which is only a one game lead.

The biggest game for us is the Steelers game, make no doubt about it. It's all or nothing in that game.

Well, the reason it's talked about is because it shows we're not mathemamtiacally eliminated and we're still in the hunt and in a position to make it...That's all you can ask for at this point , TO CONTROL OUR OWN DESTINY!
