Kansas City Chiefs waive RT Eric Winston

Really surprising , the chiefs just signed him to a big deal last year . This all but solidifies that the chiefs will take joeckel , fisher, or Johnson with the #1 pick

kinda surprised...especially with the unease stated by Albert with moving to RT..If I were the GM I would have kept Albert and Winston and went for Shariff Floyd...this should work though albeit whoever they draft will likely be a RT. Both options are good

I'm not sure about them taking a another d lineman, remember they invested a very high pick last year in Dontari Poe

I wouldnt mind seeing us bring in Winston... I know we need a LT, depending on what happens with McKinnie, but Winston would definitely be an upgrade over Oher.

Pursuing him is not a terrible idea for the right price. He fits the zone blocking scheme well, if Caldwell still plans on utilizing it.

He was due like 9.5 mil I read somewhere which expedited his release. No one in their right mind pays a RT 9.5 mil for a single season.

The Texans and Eagles are reportedly interested in signing Eric Winston as they were the first two teams to contact him after his release.

I'd be surprised if we signed him. I'd rather stick with Oher than pay big money for a RT.

I'd be surprised if they take an offensive linemen with the first pick. Joeckel and Fisher are LT and Brandon Albert would be better off on the left side. I think it's just a money issue.

I think they take Dee Milliner with the first pick. Quality corner who showed he has some speed behind him.

I'd bring Winston here depending on what he wants for money, but he question I have is are we going to continue to run the ZBS? People seem pretty set that we're going to retain it, but I'm not so sure. With Castillo here as a run-game coordinator or whatever his title/responsibility is, and a new OC in Caldwell, I can really see us move on from the ZBS or at least feature it less. If that's the case, WInston loses a ton of value for us and may be a reason why we haven't brought him here yet in addition to having bigger needs at positions.

I wouldn't rule out us bringing Winston here. I think it could happen. It's not guaranteed by any means either way. I'd rather keep Oher at RT, but I don't know what the FO plans to do there and I can see it go either way even though I keep hearing it will be #74 again next year.
