Not bad. Not as good as Jones. He turns it on June on... but he starts out VERY slow.
Yes but he makes up for it on defense.

Bad words, bad words, bad words. Game 3 and Roberts hurt. Looks like he blew out his knee.

Not watching game.. I'm following some on my phone but Jones chases off speed pitches all the time..

A decent curve or a good slider will get him chasing all the time
Was a breaking ball apparently and well out of the strike zone by my untrained eye. If he let it go he would have been up 3 0 and could have bided his time or at least got a walk, bases loaded with davis up next

Yeup, offspeed pitches down and away. Gets him swinging every single time.

Watching the os again to a novice, they need to invest in a pitcher, dont they have a draft like the NFL? Cause I know he won't open his wallet

We currently have one pitching prospect named Bundy who many people think is the best young prospect in baseball, overall. We have another named Gausman who is also a top rated prospect.

In 2 years both could be top of the rotation pitchers (1 & 2) but we could see them pitch later this year.

They do have a draft and Angelos actually pays his drafted players quite well.

Not quite ready for prime time yet. They need a little more time in the minor leagues.

They're not ready. Bundy just got out of high school 2 years ago I believe, He did pitch for us some last year though. The O's are monitoring his innings, plus if he plays a large amount of time in the big leagues then his contract could potentially end earlier. It's weird.

Gausman looked great in spring and a lot of people think he'll be ready in the near future. He came out of of college last year and has more experience.

In my bias opinion both could become #1 pitchers.
I meant to a free agent he won't open the wallet so they'd have to draft one

I take 2/3 @ TB any day. Great series win even though it was a little sketchy.

A series at a time, can't wait for saturday
Awh okay, so they still own them even though they play for someone else, like a loan in soccer

We wouldnt have been in the postseason if Jones wasnt clutch in the regular season. It really isnt fair to compare them, as Jones plays offense and defense, whereas Flacco is a QB. Who is the best player on the team? Jones is , by far the best Orioles player. Its hard to measure impact across different sports. I dont even know how you'd quantify it. I stand behind AJ providing higher level consistency then Flacco, when compared to their peers.
Wieters is the best player on the Orioles and the most important to the clubs success. What Flacco does for the offense is immensely more important than a single player on any baseball team. It's really not even comparable.

Each major league team has an extensive "farm" system where they "grow" players. They're a member of the Orioles organization, just playing in the lower levels.

I'd say more like a U-18 or reserves squad in soccer. All these teams Gausman, Bundy and the rest of the Orioles prospects play at are affiliated with the Orioles and can only be called up by the Orioles.

What mod 3 said. The O's have minor league affiliates where all the prospects, players coming off injury, and just minor league players (not good enough for majors) play. It's broken down in 4 major categories/leagues... Triple A (AAA) Double A (AA) A Ball, and A Ball advanced. ....prospects that are more ready then others play at higher levels.

Some players spend their whole career playing in the minors because they're not good enough to advance. I believe both Bundy and Gausman are in AAA. Also players get "called up" and "called down" to the minors and big leagues all the time.

Here's the official orioles minor league affiliates website...
http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/mlb/minorleagues/affiliates/index.jsp?c_id=bal

They show the teams top prospects and have scouting reports on them.

Bundy and Gausman are part of Bowie's rotation (AA) and by the way I'm really excited to catch some Baysox games later in the year, always a fun time. Most top-ranked prospects jump straight from Double-A to the Majors. Triple-A is usually where major/minor league veterans play.
