mock draft 2

1st round- Trade back for a mid 2nd and 7th
2nd round pick 1: D.J. Swearinger (S) SC- With Reed back for at least one more year, Swearinger will have time to learn from the best. He plays full speed all the time, can lay big hits, and is good in coverage. He plays very physical and looks like a raven. Him and matt elam are my favorite safety prospects, but elam wont be available mid 2nd round.
2nd Round Pick 2: Brandon Williams (DT) Missouri Southern- Terrence Cody has turned out to be a bust, and with ray lewis gone, a big body is needed in the middle to help the young linebackers. Williams is a very good run stuffer but needs work developing a consistent pass rush. I see a big run on DT in this draft early and Williams will be the best available at this spot.
3rd Round: tyrann Mathieu (DB)- With Williams having a good chance of leaving, and the injury questions with Jimmy and Webb, depth is needed at this position. This guy had the potential to go first round if not for all the off the field issues. He is a stud and can be a pro bowler if placed in the right system/locker room. Jimmy Smith had drug questions and he has been clean in the pros. Although mathieu's are a lot more serious, after watching his OTL interview, I believe in him.
4th round: Gerald Hodges (MLB) PSU- Very physical, hard hitting MLB with great pursuit. His problem is he cant get off of blocks very well and needs a little work in coverage. Worth a 4th round pick though to add depth behind Ellerbe and possibly challenge McClain for reps.
5th Round: Hugh Thorton (OL) Illinois- A very athletic/physical Offensive Lineman who will provide good depth and has potential of being a starter in time.
6th round: Brandon Kaufman (WR) Eastern Washington- Big receiver listed at 6-5 220, has reliable hands and can get off of the line quickly for his size. Concerns about injuries and level of competition has him going late in the draft. When playing FBS defenses, he consistently put up productive numbers.
7th round pick 1: Kenny Tate (OLB) Maryland- He needs to add bulk and hit the weight room, but he is very athletic and can run side line to side line effectively. Has very good pursuit to the ball carrier.
7th Round pick 2: Joe Kruger (DE) Utah- Replace a kruger with a kruger. While hes not as gifted as paul, he has natural ability to rush the passer and he has a strong work ethic to potentially be a solid player.

Keep in mind I think we resign Reed, Ellerbe, and Big Mac

Mathieu and Williams are solid picks but i don't want us to trade out of the first round and Rambo is a harder hitter and better in coverage than SwearingerKeep in mind I think we resign Reed, Ellerbe, and Big Mac

Nah...not liking it too much. I dont think we go with safety in the early rounds, with guys like Tj McDonald, Tony Jefferson, and Baccari Rambo as potential 3rd rounders...Rambo MIGHT make it to the early 3rd. I like us trading back...but I think we go ILB or NT with the early pick...then grab a WR with the 2nd and a safety in the 3rd.Keep in mind I think we resign Reed, Ellerbe, and Big Mac

I could see us trade with Arizona for example...trade our 1st and 3rd for their 2nd 3rd and 5th. I have a feeling someone sitting in the top 10 2nd rounders will be eager enough to secure a QB they could trade up for them. We'd be pretty late in the 2nd with that.

I was talking about just trading the first, but yeah I could see that. But I'm feeling a trade back in this draft.I could see us trade with Arizona for example...trade our 1st and 3rd for their 2nd 3rd and 5th. Tyrann Mathieu just hoisted 225lbs 4 times. Now you could argue he is small but Tavon Austin is smaller and put it up 14 times. Mathieu looked strong the first few reps were clean he just maxed out too quick...meaning he is out of shape. He is looking like a reach anywhere you draft him...I dont like the Ravens taking him anymore....to much risk for a not so high potential reward.3rd Round: tyrann Mathieu (DB)- With Williams having a good chance of leaving, and the injury questions with Jimmy and Webb, depth is needed at this position.

DJ Swearinger would be a good 2nd round draft with the possibility of Reed leaving this year or could have a year of learning from the master. Trading the 1st round draft i don't know really, what about Manti T'eo?
I would trade up in round 2 to get Swearinger. Sounds like a Raven.
