Varys might be the second best casting of the entire TV show, and he's got some really stiff competition for it because the show is so well cast overall (Tyrion is obviously first).  I could not imagine that part being played any better, he really is fantastic.

I too have enjoyed Margaery and her manipulation of Joffrey.  We didn't see their relationship that much in the book, and it's interesting that she might be able to control him while Cersei can't.

And I'm really loving The Queen of Thorns, she was another great casting.  I liked that character a lot in the book though too, reminded me of my own gram.

I wonder if IT is this week.  They built towards it very quickly last week.

looks like IT will be next week.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm loving how they're building the tension for it for those of us who know.  It literally could be any week now, I can't wait to watch it.  People are going to be so mad, unless there's something in the last half of Book 5 it's probably the most shocking thing to happen in the series thus far.

Definitely shocking, but I dont think people will be that mad because of how characters have been developed.

Thanks GOD! I haven't read the books so I am clueless, but these past couple of episodes have been incredibly boring and predictable. Daenerys.. hmmmmmmmmm

Does anyone know if HBO is going to be doing a marathon of all the season's episodes?

Not sure. But I have all the episodes thus far, but don't know how I'd get them to you. Well..... hmm just PM me. There are other methods.

I thought the same of "Lord Varys", especially in this third season.  Charles Dance (who I just happened to notice in "Aliens 3" a few nights ago) is also convincing as the brooding patriarch Tywin Lannister.   The casting, script and acting are vastly superior to what you'd normally find on the small screen.  After having read the books, it's fun to watch George R.R. Martin's characters, literally, come to life.

re:  The Queen of Thorns...lol, yeah she's excellent; the scene where Lady Olenna stands up to Tywin Lannister was memorable!

Ok I reasoned it out this time, I'm 99% sure the event is the next episode.  Next episode is episode 9 of the season, and something BIG always happens in episode 9.  We had the whole business with Ned Stark in season 1, and it was the Blackwater episode in season 2.  It HAS to happen in two weeks.

I'm quite upset that this stupid Liberace movie is disrupting the Game of Thrones schedule next week.

They should rename this show. So far from the books. Should just call it Game of Boobs...

They've changed some details, but the overall story is the same.  I appreciate both mediums, and there are some aspects the show did better than the book although the book is better overall.  I've started to mind the changes less and just appreciate the show for what it is.

And come on man, we went 18 episodes without seeing all of Daenerys, it was long overdue.

I think the biggest disappointment for me is no Strong Belwas. He was one of my favorite characters in the series.

I was trying to figure out how they could introduce him now.  They really messed up in how they brought Ser Barristan into the fold in the show, there was no reason to change it.

I think they probably just decided there were already too many characters, and for the less hardcore fans it gets confusing.

My ultimate reasoning was correct, Episode 9 is and most likely will continue to be the 'big episode' of the season.

The question is how do they end the season.  I thought it would be with Joffrey's wedding, but there was way too much going on in the preview for that.  I thought that would be used to appease all the people who are mad after this episode, but I'm not sure that's how they'll do it now.

Well didn't see that happening, great episode. Have no idea where this goes from here

Many places, do not despair.  There are still more shockers to come, if not in the finale then early next season.  A Storm of Swords was quite a bloody affair.  Depending on how the season breaks down, we might not get to my favorite moment in the book until the finale of Season 4, unless they're getting to A Feast for Crows/A Dance with Dragons next season as well.  I'm assuming they're not splitting those books up because that was a terrible decision by the author and you can throw out the majority of the fourth book and miss nothing of import.

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT:
I think this death might be more impactful for fans of the show than those who read the books.  He wasn't as big of a character, and the novel is much less forgiving of the stupidity of the Starks.  And I hated reading Catelyn's chapters in the novel so I celebrated her death.
Honestly, I was rooting for the Lannisters until the end of A Storm of Swords.  The Starks were portrayed better in the show, but ultimately they're the stupid family of the Seven Kingdoms.  Beholden to their false sense of honor, ultimately ignoring the greater good, they display a complete lack of ability to play the game.
