I think he's better then McClain, Rey is a very serviceable LB IMO. I think he's going to have a big year.

Remember really wanting this guy year he was drafted. Also wanted us to take a late round chance on burficht last year as well. It would only be for minimum money for meleuga

I wouldn't mind bringing him and letting him compete. Unlike many, I'm not sold that Bynes is ready to make the leap next year and would like to see him pushed at the very least. Otherwise, we were high on him coming out of the draft and while he bombed in Cincy I have no faith in Cincinnati's ability to develop players. Anyone who succeeds there succeeds on talent alone and as soon as that talent starts to diminish they fall off the map because there is no scheming whatsoever(see: Every Bengals player that was half decent and went to another team).

I dont know about big year but this is a guy who would benefit immensely from playing in a 34 defense that cuts the field for him. Hes a physical player just not athletic enough change of direction wise for a 43.

Much rather dratf or do what Ozzie has been successful at, an udfa lb. Still kind of mad they didn't take a shot on Burfict.

Not fast enough to cover and not strong enough to take on blockers.

So, he's J. McClain?

McClain at least can stone blockers at times, that is when he hits the right gap.

No. He's worse.
[/quote]

True. He's awful.

What do you base that on? he might have been a beast in USC but the Bengals fans don't have a high opinion of him, the few times he's played us he looked lost, and thats when he wasn't sliding off Rice or getting beaten up by Yanda and Leach.

I don't want to say anything I will regret, lol. I don't want to bad mouth the guy and then eat my words if we sign him a la JJ. I will say that he wouldn't be my first LB on the FA market. I think we could do better. McClain does have an injury and Ellerbe being re-signed is not a foregone conclusion as some seem to think.

I can see it happen.
