It looks like they're trying to make Defiance, but a good version of that. Or maybe I'm oversimplifying it.

It will be far more deeper than Defiance. Gunplay will also be far better.

I can't wait for Microsoft to reveal their console. I just have a feeling they're going to impress.

Shame on me.

Xbox 180 confirmed. Microsoft has officially pulled their policies as far as used games, mandatory internet connection, and region locks.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/19/microsoft-reversing-xbox-one-internet-used-game-policies

Outside of the mandatory Kinect and $100 more for inferior hardware, everything is back on an even playing field.

Yeah AFTER they got negative feedback and were worried their customers were going to leave them for the PS4. Just saving face after disaster.

Agreed. The damage has already been done after that huge backlash.

No doubt about it! It wasn't confusion, it was MS "f them and they'll like it... " meanwhile, Xbox dudes are like "f you, I want a PS4 now"

From my understanding, Sony is requiring you to subscribe to the Playstation Plus program to play online multiplayer. That's what I got from it. It's not a bad service. I'm just not a fan of paying for it but it's going to happen eventually I guess.

I already have a Wii U. I'm a diehard Nintendo fan but I've always had two systems due to Nintendo's weak third party support. I'm going to patiently wait before I decide on one of these systems. I think things are still fluid and may change on Microsoft's front.

Well there we go. I'm not surprised by this. The problem they now face is that they have had ridiculous bad press. They'll need to fix some things before I see people buying this. They clearly lost the used game deal. Their reputation is clearly tarnished. The consumer won. More importantly their one employee who said gamers can go to the 360 if they want an offline console makes them look even dumber.

They have some real work to do here. They'll need to reduce the price because many consumers will refuse to purchase out of principle.

Yep pretty much. If Sony had those same limitations meaning both would limit used games and have to connect online every 24 hours, Microsoft wouldn't have budged because the PS4 had the same thing. Yet because the PS4 didn't have those limitations, they budged to save their customers to moving to Sony.

I agree, they should down the price, maybe throw in a free game or something with a purchase, and an apology note inside the box "Sorry for being complete jerks to you guys... here's $20" hahaha

It's just mind boggling that they would even try to do that with their console... just ridiculous

I agree about the game. Seems like an easy way to fix things. Include a game like wii sports or something.

I can't blame them. They run a business. They probably wanted to innovate the industry. They underestimated things.

When you destroy a used game market and alienate your customers , I don't think that's innovative business .

Agreed.

Too bad the thing is still $500 dollars, requires Kinect, and still is weaker than the PS4. It might look attractive after a price drop and a Halo release.

Until then, I'll be content with my PS4 at launch.

Haha, just read that snippet and need to point out that it wasn't just some employee peddling that line, it was Don Mattrick, president of MS' s Interactive Entertainment Business division.

On that note I found this amusing mockup someone at dorkly.com did and found it hilarious. Warning, there is some obscene language in it, I.e. a lot haha.

While "mattrick" is not wrong on anything here, the mockup I think sort of exemplifies Microsoft's attitude at times over the last month or so.

Bungie>>>>343

That remains to be seen.  Halo 4 was a far superior title to every game Bungie made, excluding Combat Evolved.  The campaign was refocused on story and characters, and should that focus be maintained throughout the new trilogy I'd have to give the nod to 343.  I also think their version of multiplayer was a lot more fun than even that of Halo 2, but that's an entirely different debate.  Bungie phoned it in and just made money off the Halo name for many years, and we let them get away with it.

The 180 from Microsoft restores some power to the consumer, it's unfortunate that they didn't figure that out before E3.  I'm still not getting a launch day box this time, as the games I want won't be out for quite some time, but I'll feel less like icky for buying one.  I'm still upset with Microsoft though, but that's mostly for Windows 8.

Far superior. I'm sorry but have you seen the matchmaking population, that game has Been dying since its release. The multiplayer is no where near as strong as Halo 3. Custom games is an absolute joke. The DMR was probably the worst decision from a balancing standpoint; from a lore and continuity standpoint it doesn't even fit. Oh and don't even get me started on spartan ops.

I might be switching over to PS4 but Xbox has more titles that I seemed more interested in.

I cant ever go the Xbox route. Weaker graphics, higher cost. Not for me guys

I only play Madden, TWG, Gran Turismo, MLB. Titles don't matter to me.

The One's controller looks basically the same, but the PS4's definitely looks larger.  Honestly, the bigger the better for me.  I was a fan of the Duke, and the 360 is my favorite controller.  I have really big hands though, so I might not be the norm.  The Dualshock right now is too small for my hands.

This is the big and clunky one:

Nothing could ever be more impractical or worse.

Lol, well, the Pro Controller is the most comfortable controller I've ever used. It's a very nice controller.
