So is Destiny supposed to be a better version of Defiance?

Not too sure but I do know I'm pre-ordering the Destiny/PS4 Bundle that comes with the Glacier White PS4 next week. I've heard good things about the game so it might be worth it for this bundle since it also comes with a 30 day membership of Playstation Plus as well.

I got into the Destiny Alpha as well. It was fun but it was nothing mind-blowing. To be fair, I've been having a real distaste for shooters lately but it was nothing amazing despite that, IMO. I'll probably like it a bit more as they polish up the gameplay and as they move towards the release date.

Dat white PS4 tho. Almost made me consider buying another but I mainly just want that white controller, which they will be selling also.

I read that it was rather boring.

I wouldn't want a white one, I want my electronics to match.

I'm with you. I've never owned a console that wasn't black.

So I'm debating on my second system. Which should I get between Xbox1 and PS4? I'll mainly use it to play Blu Ray movies and games, such as some RPGs, action adventure games, fighting games.

They'll both do that.

Hopefully getting a PS4 and a kick butt (lol) flatscreen soon, any games I should get? Already planning on getting The Last of Us, NHL 15, GTA 5, possibly Madden (I know, I know..) and Alien Isolation when that comes out.

I enjoyed Watch Dogs, but it seems opinions are pretty mixed on that one.  You're pretty much stuck with nothing for a while though, there's nothing out right now that's worthwhile.  Even the supposed system seller Titanfall gets a resounding meh from me, not that you could get that anyway.  FIFA 15 does come out next month though with the new COD, DA:I, and Destiny right around the corner.

The next Tomb Raider game will be exclusive to the Xbox and it's being said that it's a total exclusive (not completely confirmed). Microsoft isn't playing around.

That's a pretty big get for them. I really liked the reboot.

Really disappointing that I won't get to play Tomb Raider's sequel on PS4 or PC. I'm certainly not buying a xbox one for this game.  In fact I'm pretty sure the definitive edition sold much better on the PS4 than the xbox one. Did Square not learn from EAs screwup with Titanfall.

Pretty desperate move if you ask me. They are behind in sales in the console war, and they needed TR to be an exclusive to them so Sony doesn't get anymore money and get more ahead of them.

Microsoft would have been better off taking the money they threw at Square Enix for Tomb Raider and just dropping the price of the Xbox One instead. They have money to throw around we get it so just take a loss on the hardware. Tomb Raider is a great game but I can't see too many people running out to get an Xbox One just to play it.

Meanwhile, this is just another reason to hate Microsoft. Whereas a price cut would be nothing but a positive thing for everyone, all this does is tick more people off.

It did. 70% of the sales were on PS4. This deal makes me concerned for Square Enix. There has been talks that they aren't doing great financially. Couple that with the last two companies who signed 3rd party exclusive deals with Microsoft and it makes me think they were desperate for the money. Capcom (Dead Rising) and Crytek (Ryse Son of Rome) are both practically bankrupt. Their games sold poorly and are now getting PC releases in an attempt to recoup some of their money. A Ryse sequel was even cancelled as a result.

Yeah I've heard Crytek is in really rough shape. They failed to pay their employees who were working on the new Homefront, and there was a decent chance we may never have seen that game unless Deep Silver(the game's publisher) shelled out their own money to make the game because Crytek sure as hell wasn't.  I too don't understand this deal from Square Enix's standpoint even if it is just for timed exclusivity. Seems like a lot of these Publishers/developers are desperate for quick cash.

Phil Spencer has come out and admitted it is a timed exclusive. IMO this is just another screw up by Microsoft and another reason for people to hate them. Not clarifying the exclusivity right away was a big mistake. It allowed all the anger you see in message boards and comment sections to fester. It makes Microsoft look like they care more about denying something to their competition than improving the enjoyment forcurrent or future Xbox owners.

It also occurred to me that Uncharted 4 will probably release Holiday 2015 as well. This could be Square's attempt to avoid a head on competition.

It's a smart move. Exclusives are what gets people to buy consoles. Always has been. Even if it's exclusive for a period of time, that's enough to get people to make the jump to your console. Tomb Raider is a big enough name to sway that decision.

They just dropped the price of the console a couple of months ago. I doubt they're going to drop it even further. The days where console makers were taking losses on consoles are over. Sony and Microsoft went into this generation ensuring that they would be making profit on their console from day one instead of years down the line.

I must respectfully disagree. Timed exclusives are meaningless to me. I have a PS4 and pre ordered Destiny but the timed exclusive Destiny content doesn't do anything for me. If I was an Xbox guy I would still get the game on Xbox. Xbox always gets Call of Duty DLC first and it never made me want to run out and buy a 360.

Tomb Raider will release during the holidays so you know there will be a ton of other games to play while we wait for the exclusivity period to expire (Uncharted 4). Heck, Tomb Raider might still get overshadowed on Xbox by Halo 5 assuming it comes out that same time.

A price cut makes more sense to me than this if the goal is to move consoles. Being more expensive than the PS4 wasn't cutting it so they cut out the Kinect. But frankly, is being the same price much better? It needs to be cheaper to compete at this point unless Microsoft gets some TRUE exclusives and not these silly temporary ones. Why Microsoft never invested more into first party studios I will never know.

Halo 5 is really the only game that matters for Microsoft.  The fanbase is established and loyal.  And people act like the One isn't selling, it's actually doing well historically.  The PS4 is just doing better.  It's fine if this generation turns out like two generations ago, where the original Xbox sold much less than the PS2.  It's always going to have a natural disadvantage because Microsoft doesn't appeal to the Japanese market.

I was speaking on exclusives in general but I believe it still holds true even in this case.  It's kind of hard to compare exclusive DLC (in Destiny's case) to a whole game being exclusive to a platform for a period of time. If someone is a Tomb Raider fan and they want to play the sequel, they have to purchase an Xbox system in order to play it until it releases on other platforms (depending on how long that is). If that Tomb Raider fan was in the market for a console during that time span, it would most certainly play a role in what console they would purchase. Maybe not you personally, but there are people that would go that route.

Microsoft isn't catching Sony regardless of what they do but their lineup looks impressive so they'll be able to carve decent market. As far as their exclusives, they'll more than likely continue with what they did last generation with making Halo, Gears, and Forza their bread and butter while scooping up third-party exclusives.

Plus Sony just announced a new feature that may help them stay ahead. Sony has announced "Share Play" that will be added in the fall update v2.00. Share play allows online users to invite their friends to play any game, even if that friend doesn't own the game.

"With this first-of-its-kind feature, you'll be able to play games with a friend just as if you were together in the same room," McCarthy wrote. "Let's say that with games ... you'll be able to invite your friend online to play against the Miami Heat for the championship as the San Antonio Spurs in NBA 2K, tackle the challenging Towerfall Ascension Quest Mode together, or aide, heal and protect you as Igniculus in Child of Light's local co-op mode."

They announced that feature when they announced the PS4. And it's now coming out that if the friend doesn't own the game, a 60 minute time limit will be placed. It's to be expected, though.

He didn't clarify the 60 minutes (Per day? Per game?) but it's likely per game.

A time limit was to be expected. It's similar to the how FarCry 4 is handling it except they are using keys and 2 hour time limits. Regardless, this feature sounds really cool. I just wonder if it will use some sort of streaming feature like PlaystationNow in which case I'm out of luck. My internet isn't fast enough.

This share feature is like the return of the game demo too.

Seems rather pointless then, just download the demo for a similar experience. Certainly not what their hyping of it seemed to indicate.

I expected there to be a limit but as TehRaven stated, their hyping of it did not indicate such and a demo would do the exact same thing that they want to do without the potential lag of streaming a game from another PS4. They should have made it more clear.

ok Xbox one bundle  399 for it and madden is it worth it ?

If you really want Madden and Xbox is your preferred system, then that's not a bad deal at all.
