How many of us are even one iota remotely surprised by the news?

With his salary cap hit of over $8million, could see this coming. Talk about regrets, makes me wonder how he feels now about leaving the Ravens. Makes you wonder if the extra money makes up for not getting that ring.

Washed up has been. Couldnt hold Rays jockstrap! It sucks to see the mad backer out of work but he couldnt be the leader of the middle like Ray was. I think Rex believed he could be a General just like Ray Lewis. However, there was never and will never be another Ray Lewis. He tried, but he fizzled a few years in. Can't play at Rays level without Rays heart

Said this years ago. Just another mirage, courtesy of playing next to Ray. Never once was he the best LB even on his own team, let alone a top guy in the NFL.

With that said, thanks for the years of service and the hits on #7! Hope you're not one of the 76% after your career is over.

Kruger reminds me Scott in that way. With good/great support, he can be beast. But he's not that #1 guy who can do it without that support. He's not Ray or Suggs.

It's going to be interesting to see if/when someone picks up Kruger. If they don't have another high level pass rusher on the other side, I get the feeling they're going to be very disappointed in the acquisition.

I liked him when he was here but felt he was unprofessional with some of his talk after he left. I'm glad the Jets saved the Ravens from themselves.

Play like a Jet!!! For some reason I've always chuckled when I heard that slogan.

he looked a lot better when he was playing next to Ray Lewis
[/quote]

For what he's mostly assigned to do (taking on blocks and stuffing the run), he was great his first two years in New York as well. He simply got old quickly.

I can't believe the Ravens got into a bidding war over this guy... very happy with the overall outcome though :)

I can't believe how upset I got when he left. I can actually still remember the day lol. I wish him the best going foward but I can't help but smile at how the Rex Ryan/Baltimore Jets have turnt out.

I hope for his sake he retires.

I heard from a fairly reliable source that there never was a bidding war...that was all Bart and his agent. Apparently the Ravens stood with their original offer and Bart left for not much more money. Rex promised Bart would be the center of their defense. If it's true that the Ravens didn't up their offer, that would explain some of the nasty bitter comments Bart made after he left.

If that's true then Ozzie deserves even more credit. I did not want Bart back after 2008, even less now

As usual, the Ravens and Oz's wisdom get the last laugh. Remember when Bart first left and was runnin his mouth about how "all the Raven players want to come to the Jets" ? I still remember Harb's classic comeback......"we don't have any rearview mirrors" zzzzzzzzing!

He's a punk and has shown complete disrespect to the team that gave him his shot.

no ring, no home, and time to retire with pretty much nothing.....classless!

PS: We fired Cam and Cam is still being classy about our move and supportive of our team. The more I look at Bart Scott, the more I respect Cam.....btw he is deserved to have our SB ring....

I remember the ravens getting handled by the colts a few years ago.
Fans in the stadium were booing because of how bad the defense played art post game interview was complaining about the fans
And his performance was a big reason the defense sucked that day.
I just remember thinking if he paid half the attention to the guy he was covering as he did to the fans booing the game wouldn't have been so lopsided.

I also don't. Elite e he was truely wanted back. Remember the article on harbs and the culture of the team when he took over. I think Rex and Bart were a big part of the culture harbs said needed to change. Guys who felt like we would win just by showing up and lacked discipline

Agree with this. I don't think it's only coincidence that, as they left, our team is one of the most cohesive in the league and the Jets are the most dysfunctional - of course, having Sanchez and losing all those games does not help, but still.

I think guys like Rex, Bart, McAlister, McGahee, etc had to either adopt the team-first attitude or be shipped out. McGahee, imo, got extra time because of his contract but he eventually became that type of guy and bought into it.

I never viewed McGahee in the same vein as the other guys while here.
McGahee was capable of. Starting and it just wasn't going to happen in Baltimore
I don't believe he left on bad terms i think he left to get the carries he covetted

He was a back up here while the others were starters and they still wanted more

Rex Ryan will be next...should have never left Baltimore...he is no head coach...or a very average one at that... he will always be a defensive coordinator
