Dolphins I think but they traded a 2nd but I'm not sure if it was theirs or the Colts.

I don't know. I think it should've been ironed out in the beginning anyway. Now the Oakland owner (Alexir) might be upset because he didn't get Shields when he thought he would. Granted, he doesn't have his original 2nd round pick but still, I think we should put it up to a vote or something. I don't think it's fair to Alexir. Also, maybe Indianstick wants the 2nd round pick.

No. This really shouldn't be put to a vote. If they still want the pick, then a trade can occur. Ditto for you Gabe if you want Shields desperately.

Alexir technically didn't get screwed because he had no shot at him to begin with.

Alexir has the higher pick so he should get the priority. I would trade my 2nd for Shields (it would be at 2 stars right) if it came to it.

All I'm saying is outside of what Arnie said in the beginning, nothing was really given to explain restricted free agency. I think there's part blame on Alexir for not understanding he no longer had his original pick when Arnie posted it in this very thread (I believe). I think we could have done a better job with explaining conditions, such as "if you have two 2nd round picks, then..." or "if you do not have your original 2nd round pick, then...". But to go and just not have anything in the rules about this...well, it doesn't make sense. It makes even less sense when people have traded all around as much as we have.

Its still a trade situation. Meaning that at this point discretion falls to the GB owner. If you wanted to offer a 2nd and 4th to overbid Alexir you could. Im just saying thats how this should be played out.

Im just saying theres no reason to change it now when a trade makes it easily fixable. It will be accounted for next time, but no one really got screwed and if both parties still would like this to happen it can be adjusted for with a trade.

Agreed. It should be fixed for next time. I just think it could have been avoided entirely. I think Alexir's at fault for not reading Arnie's post about the matter.

agree with both of you guys. It could of been avoided and next time should be clarified better. I will entertain trades for shields but he is probably GB's best corner and I like him a lot and think he is a bargain for 2 stars. I was devastated when i saw the bid was 8 stars because that would be a hard decision for me to make to match it but then I was pumped when i realized oakland would have a top 5 pick in the second round, but then I realized they didn't have their pick so I was kind of happy cause I would rather not give up shields.

Yeah, I personally wouldn't trade him for even a 1st round pick unless it was top-10 and you could get Millner. He's a great player and his price is dirt cheap. That's why I was saying it's a big deal and when Sizzle mentioned a trade it didn't matter because really I know I wouldn't trade a 2 S CB with that much talent.

You mean Alexir? Arnie never bid on Shields. Gabe bid on Shields too I think but the same rule applies.

He is very talented but it's tough to say whether he is worth 8M (and a second round pick). That would mean he is a #1 corner and shut down #1 receivers, he def has the potential to but don't know if he's quite there yet.
