1 more TEX win and they'll squeak into the playoffs yet again.  Kudos to PIT for clinching home field advantage for their playoff against CIN!

And I am ready for some playoffs ~ go Red Sox!  That bearded bunch has been a lot of fun to watch.

Which team's manger should win MOTY: BOS, CLE or PIT? I'm thinking PIT, simply because they haven't been in the playoffs (or +.500) in 20 years!

They pick one from AL and NL.
I'd say Farrell for AL
Clint Hurdle for the NL

What a man Hurdle is!  Here's an example of the kind of thing he brings to the rejuvenated Pirates:

As for the AL, I think the award will go to Francona for his amazing work with a team with a 6-year playoff drought.

I so hope the Tribe can pull out the one-game playoff and move on.  It's been an incredible year for them and what a job Francona has done with this squad.  Simply amazing.

I also can't wait to see a playoff game tonight in Pittsburgh; that will be awesome to see.

Red Sox were well prepared for Tampa in games 1 and 2.  Strong hitting beat some very good pitching.  I was glad to see Lester and Lackey getting Ws.  On to Tampa Monday night!

DODGERS ADVANCE.

And if Straily pitches a good game tomorrow then the As will play the Sox.

For some reason I'm thinking Dodgers vs As World Series :P

I loved the Salt and Papi ending to the Sox game last night.  I did not like the comparison to Brady's heroics as he led the Pats over the Saints.  After a terrible year last year, it is nice to see the Sox have their never say die attitude.

World Series starts Wednesday.  Amazing that the two teams with the best record during the regular season won the pennants. Very good championship series with lots of great pitching.  It's October.  The seventh game is set for Halloween - Ha!

When the Sox lose, they definitely can't blame Big Papi.  I don't think he could do anymore than he's doing for them in this series.  I'm biased though, he's their one player I like.

Watched ESPN today and someone said they think Ortiz found the fountain of youth in Florida. Wouldn't be surprised. He is always angry at the plate and he did rage out in the dugout when he was struck out in Baltimore. Seriously, I've never seen him calm at the plate. Always looks like he's going for blood

That really could have been a sweep boston were way better than st louis, the NL was really weak this year. I was hoping Oakland would do better too.

I am a long time Red Sox fan, and the team spirit displayed throughout this season reminded me so much of the Ravens last season.  Congrats to Papi who was the clubhouse emotional leader.  John Ferrell created some magic and they all helped to heal a city in pain.  Now, back to the Ravens!!
