Ocho Cinco

25 posts in this topic

With Chad Johnson getting deactivated for tonight's game against Pitts., the talking heads are suggesting that Chad should be traded or cut in the offseason.
Since that is a very real possibility, I was wondering what everyone thinks about us making an offer for him, or signing him if he is cut.
We desperately need a playmaker at the WR position, should Chad be that guy? Why, or why not?
And what do you think would be a fair trade offer for him? Cincy was already offered two first rounders for him last offseason ( :o ). No way he's worth that, but one first rounder wouldn't be unreasonable...What does everyone think?

Since the Eagles own the Panthers 1st round pick I would`nt mind giving up one for him but,I`d rather they go after Anquain Boldin.

its ocho cinco, he brings to much drama with him.

No way he would fit in with the ravens, however I do remember watching a pre season game when he was injured and he said something about Ray Lewis being a role model of his or something. If so he isnt following in his role model's footsteps really well or we wouldnt mind signing him.

I think Chad just needs a change of scenery, and if anyone in a locker room can handle a big personality, it's Ray Ray.

i agree and it seems like he gets along find with the ravens when they play not like hines ward who clearly doesnt like us or respects our team thats why i hope hines ward gets hit by a car but yea ray can help change hes mindset a little

But if you bring in Chad Johnson, you probably dont have the money to keep Lewis. Chad wants Larry Fitzgerald money. We cant afford to pay him that on the open market, and some team will be willing to do it... *cough* Al Davis. And trading a first round pick to a division rival for a 30 yard old wr is not wise.

Trade for him, i would not give up more than a second and they aint accepting that
Sign him if he get cut (unlikely) Yes i would

Chad Johnson and ray Lewis are really good friends and get on great. They talk a lot on the phone and Chad thinks of Ray as a role model so he would fit in great as he fits in with the boss lol

Plus he's in division so they wouldn't be trading to us anyways. You really think the Bengals would want to face Chad Ocho twice a year? Another bad idea. I'm really amazed how many of these we can come up with?

If the offer was right, then yeah.
Or if he gets cut, then Cincy wouldn't have a say in the matter.

I wouldn't trade more than a conditional 4th round pick for him at this point, if anything. Also, I would never sacrifice a Ray Lewis or T-Sizzle when there are play-makers at the receiver position coming out of this upcoming draft that we can bring in...

If the Ravens pick up Chad Johnson (his momma call him Johnson, I call him Johnson) I'm becoming a Dolphins fan.

I'd love him here.

He's like a little child. The Bengals have no veterans that can discipline him among his team, so he just whines and whines. If he's on the Ravens I think he'll turn the drama around being in the same locker room as Ray and other defensive vets.

Chad Johnson is 30 years old. He's supposed to be the veteran that looks after the younger players and he shouldnt need another grown man to tell him how to be professional. T.J. Houshmanzadeh is the same age and you dont see him running acting like Chad Johnson. Its all in his personality, veteran leadership only works when a guy is wet behind the ears. Chad Johnson is to far gone to be changed now. At some point he has to take responsibilty for his own actions.

My order of preference in filling the WR spot...

1st choice - Draft a WR
2nd choice - Anquain Boldin
3rd choice - Chad Johnson

Chad Johnson is definitely a good player that can make game changing plays... but he is 30 years old, has too big of an ego (especially with the way hes been performing lately), and is also suffering injuries and planning surgery.

If we got him I wouldn't be disappointed and think our team would definitely keep him in line, but I would much rather draft a WR and get him going with Flacco for 10-15 years in the future (hopefully).

Boldin is a beast, at 27 I would also be happy with that pick up. I just don't think we should give up so many draft picks for him with the talent we find.

Arizona isn't gonna let Boldin go, let's just face facts. With the way he's played this year, they'll want to keep him at all costs. Chad, if he were to come to Baltimore, will have to change him name back to Johnson because he'd look silly with the Ocho Cinco on the back of his jersey and his number being 81 or something like that.

Arizona has to find away to pay him first and I doubt they are gonna want to match the price tag the FA market is gonna put on him. 2 WR taking up almost a 100MIL in cap space...riiiggghhtttttt

If we could get Chad next year....

Only reason he has his issues is bcuz he's in Cincinnati. Chad is one of the best WR in the game if not the Best, it's just unfortunate the way things are turning out for the Bengals..LOL well...maybe it's not a bad thing :D . But Johnson WANTS to be a Raven I'm telling you he dreams purple and black and if he has an opportunity to play for another team next year I guarantee you he'll be knocking on our door 1st. The antics are for the fans and media I don't get to caught up in that stuff. I don't think he'd be a distraction to our team if anything he'll be a distraction to the opposing team.

Chad Johnson would be a PERFECT fit in Baltimore.

Actually, they've still got another year or two to do it. Boldin sign a 4 or 5 year extenstion like 2 years ago. By the time he becomes a FA he will be 31 years old. The only way to get him now is to trade for him and if we are going to do that, we might as well draft someone.

I thought he was a restricted FA? If the Cardinals **** Boldin and dont pay him you know it's not gonna be good for the league and when the league steps in things happen. If he doesn't get traded I think he's gonna hold out, so something has to give.

I'd like to see the Ravens make a play for him bcuz everything about his game is exactly how you would expect a Ravens WR to play. People say trade Suggs for Boldin but I'm completely against that move. Unless....Boldin comes with a 1st round pick as well. Suggs is twice as valuable than Boldin is IMO hands down. The key to a great team starts in the trenches. Think about how much a team would be willing to pay to have a great defensive line if they could. How much would you give up to have the Titans D-line or the to have the Giants D-line? Suggs = 1/4 of that.

Yea they really do not have to do anything with Boldin's contract. He signed it. He's not a Free Agent until the end of next year, 2010 I think. The Cards aren't going to let him go. They've already stated that they won't talk trade, but they will talk contract negotiation. People get over this Boldin crap, he will still be a Cardinal next year.
