ISSUE: Roster Bonuses in our Offseason

Option 1) We include roster bonuses in our salary for every move we make (cuts and trades) - This means that you will have to cross examine your players with Rotoworld. Reasoning is it brings more realism to game.
Ex. Zach Miller has a gurantee of 3 Mill roster bonus due March 22, if we cut we would also save this

OR

Option 2) We do not include roster bonus money in contracts when we cut/trade. Reasoning Rotoworld may not have figures for every player who has a roster bonus and it would be simpler to follow just base salaries on Spotrac. Spotrac also does not specify in its bonus section what is a roster bonus and what may be other bonuses (ex. workout, weight, etc.)

*****VOTING CLOSES on WED FEB. 13 at 7pm EST*****

***VOTING CLOSED

Outcome: We will be including roster bonuses for all cut and traded players. Make sure you click on the player hyperlink in Spotrac to see if they have a roster bonus. if so this counts along with the base salary
For roster bonuses when would they be "activated" because generally a date is set for when the bonuses are paid out?

We may need another vote on that, as I was wondering the same...

lets move this to the discussion thread in the meantime

How do you guys want me to handle Steven Jackson's contract... full player option - Should I assume he's an UFA or on the Rams' roster? I'm indifferent... let me know.

I think that's up to you. My interpretation is it's a voidable contract, which would mean you can "cut" him if you want, or pick it up and retain him for 7S or whatever it is.

I'm still confused about the bonus money. I traded finnegan (base 9s), but currently, I'm "eating" an additional 6s (1s signing, 5s other bonuses)... Does the vote free me of any/all this additional 6 mil?

No. The trade was done before this was in effect I believe. You wouldn't be able to get rid if the signing bonus either way though. I don't know what the other bonus was.

Shall we have a vote on un-cutting players before free agency begins?
Once you cut a player, you can't uncut him.

Ok, well it's pretty obvious what the answer is going to be.

Lol, if we do vote on this I am against being able to un-cut a previously cut player. It'll cause far too many problems.

Veto the Graham trade. Premier player, arguably best TE in the NFL.

I am against the veto of "The Graham Sham" or whatever you want to call it, lol. Here's my argument against the veto:

While Graham has clean character, a premier TE in the NFL, cheap, and very productive, the Chiefs are losing on tremendous value (regardless of the quality of the draft) in giving up the #1 overall pick and dropping to I think 14th overall? The trade value chart, which I use when determining trade value, is definitely skewed in favor of the Saints. While I realize that it's not ideal for the Saints to lose a lot of value, and they really are because they already do not have a 2nd round pick, I don't vote on value--I vote on the trade. As such, regardless of my opinion on value, I feel like it should go through.

Remove value from the equation and ask yourself what the Saints trade their young superstar TE?

Even if you factor in value the chiefs won out tremendously as Graham has more value that any player in this draft because he is not only elite, but a proven commodity unlike anyone in this draft.

I'm not changing my opinion on the matter. I wouldn't do it, if that's what you're asking me. I would never trade Graham. You know my opinion on the matter, I'm sure. I only traded Britt, CJ2K & Locker because to be honest those players have underwhelmed & had big contracts (CJ2K). If Calvin's contract was less, he would have remained. I can't pay a RB 10S. That's ridiculous. Locker was always The Hurt Locker. I kept Britt, and I'm glad I did.

I am against trading Graham. I am. With that said, I think the GM needs to be allowed to do what he wants if it's not Brees.
