If the new cap is $123,000,000, how would that equate in the cap being raised to $129,000,000? Confused by all these huge numbers. Want to be an informed voter.

Each member has to have at 5.5 Stars for the Draft, or less/more, depending on how many picks they have.

So the new cap, if this legislation passes, would be 123+5.5=128.5 Cap ?!

It should be 129.5. The new cap is 123.9 so it would round up to 124.

A.

Given that some of us had to release players we wouldnt have needed to release otherwise.

If we start changing cap why not bring in restructuring cuts etc from real life, it was agreed the date we pick teams real life does not matter, so that means everything!

8-6 in favor of B

This cap issue shouldn't be added. Before this all started, we agreed that no real life move would impact this after a certain date. Well, this is a real life move and its WAY after the date. Also, we have already gone through so much trading and cutting and are on the last day of offensive FA. If the cap is raised, it impacts all of those moves. Maybe I would't have cut these guy if we had an extra 2.5 in cap? Maybe I would have pulled the trigger on this trade or not have done that one? Maybe I would have bid higher in other FAs if we had an extra 2.5 in cap? I know I would have done at least 2 of these, if not more. This needs to be voted against for all of these reasons. Last year the real life cap was different from what ours was and we didn't change it. This is something that happened in real life so therefore it shouldn't even be allowed to vote, as we said no real life stuff impacts us after a certain date. Plus, you have all the complications with would I have done certain cuts, trades, and FA bidding if we had extra cap.

I thought about this all night, actually. I abstained from voting initially so I didn't go back and change my vote. I brought this up because I figured someone would. I also figured it could help cap-strapped teams. As much as I would like to help them, I can't vote for option B.

I vote Option A.

As you stated, my reason is the same.

It'd be a farce if this gets changed, then every GM and make a case for. Restructures and real life cuts being in and no one could stop them, do it once, have to. Do it for everything.

Do you think this is the same as the comp icks being announced? Also this would be like the lockout year where the final cap wasn't announced until wayyy in to free agency. Also would it make sense for any cap change to only be changed after the entire first rd of free agency is complete? So you can only use it for the rd 2 free agency and would be more fair? I want to hear more arguments before rushing in to my vote.

The compensatory picks are different, even though I feel like those should just not be included for the sake of brevity. The compensatory picks are awarded for FA last year. Your point makes a lot of sense, I see it. But those situations are a tad different. Here, we are talking about adding more money and that would've affected many things retroactively. It also gives a precedent as to what we can or can't do going forward. After all, if this passes why not restructures? I see Arnie's point.

A.

I would really like 2 extra stars to work with, but I don't think we should add this so late in the game. I would have franchised Melton if I knew I had 2 more stars in cap room, so I think it would be unfair to add this now.
