SUCCOP?! Oh no!

Missed 4 fg within 39 yards last year. I can do better in FA

Makes sense. You only gave up like a 6th right?
Makes sense? Really realistic move here. If anyone wants to extend the rule for cap penalties to include traded for players as well(next year of couse) I am for it.
None of this is realistic nor will it ever be since its only one year and it's not real. Didnt you trade Polamalu? Oh yeah thats quite realistic lol. Also why would would there be a penalty for cutting a player you got in a trade sometimes they just don't pan out and need to be cut and sometimes they just aren't worth what you thought they were and need to be cut regardless it should be at the discretion of that GM how the player is handled.

I disagree. We can make this realistic and I hope next year we do. I think guaranteed money should be accelerated and as such would really deter teams from trading most players (or accepting traded players, for that matter) as teams trade players to relieve cap...mostly.

If you add the accelerated guaranteed money if you trade/cut players, you'll see a lot more realism IMO.

In real life he should be offered a short extension for a much reduced rate, but I can't do that. His production is way down the last 2 yrs and he has missed a ton of time due to injury. He is nearing the end of his career and could easily end up elsewhere, very similar to ed reed.
That makes it somewhat more realistic but it also takes some enjoyment out of it as well. Overall though it is still very unrealistic.

If anything, I think it adds more strategy to it. I think it will make things more interesting. It requires more consideration into cuts & trades. It also really puts you in the position of a GM, because GMs have to really consider the guaranteed money.
I think the trouble would be finding an accurate listing of how the guaranteed money is spread out over each players contract.

It's not too hard. Spotrac does a good job of showing you the guaranteed. It's really easy.

He was 4th on their depth chart and they gave up on him as a runner. So I am giving up on him too.
