Who else would you put ahead of McCoy?
Kyle Williams and Marcel Dareus.

You traded for Nnamdi? So if you are so sure you would get him cheaper in FA, why trade for him in the first place. Could have used those draft picks to continue building what ever is left of the Bengals team that has gone to the playoffs the past two years.
Eagles GM said he wouldn't cut him. And no one would pay 15 stars for an overrated and aging CB so I'm pretty confident I could get him cheaper. I think I gave up like a 6th round pick for him so it's not a big deal...

Kyle Williams and Marcel Dareus.
Dareus is filled with potential and shows flashes but IMO he has disappointed to this point.

I'll tell you later. Someone might cut some quality players. Not trying to bring attention to players I want.
Ight.

There is this Haloti Ngata guy. I hear he is pretty good. Some dude named Justin Smith too...
They are DE's that can shift inside not natural DT's

Yes. Ngata, Suh, Smith, Atkins, and a few others I like a lot on some other teams. That's four right there.

Well actually you just paid 15 stars for an overrated and aging Cb by trading for him.
Not since I'm going to cut him... All I did was pay for the opportunity to get Nnamdi.

I had a feeling you made the trade because you wanted Nnamdi but not for 15 Stars but because the GM said he wouldn't cut him you traded for him to cut him yourself risking that no other GM would take him due to age & poor performance as well as being overrated. So, your assumption is you can get him cheaper and still save money and it only ends up costing you a 6th.

Which makes the trade worthless. Have fun only saving half of his salary.
Exactly. If I miss out oh well I lost a 6th no big deal.

Nah they just play DE. Smith started his career at DT. Either way they are both dominant at DT just like DE which makes them even better.

How would I save half his salary?
He probably assumes Nnamdi will go for 7.5 Stars or something.

In which you may miss out on a player who could have been a steal for you and helped you in the 6th round.
Fair enough I guess if you include players like them then McCoy would not be top 5 possibly not top 10.
It's a risk I'm willing to take... Kinda like you trading a stud LT for almost nothing...

I thought there was a rule that if you trade for a player then cut him, you only save half of his salary or something. I'm pretty sure we implemented something that would hurt GMs in the instance they trade for someone, then cut him later.

Hence why I am saying he's not top-5. JJ Watt I would rank above him, but I'm not sure if he can play DT TBH. I think he's really best as a 3-4 DE.

I asked about that before, and I was told that's not the case. I had the same assumption, though.

Please clarify that for me. I would really like to know.

I got a high 3rd round pick out of it, and there are better LTs in Free Agency that I'm targeting.

I know that is for FA but I don't know if we said that for cutting traded players.

Not even who I'm targeting. Plus I could always stay at 2 and upgrade with Joeckel if I don't get the LT I want in Free Agency
