Jacksonville - 7th Round Pick (213th Overall)

Tennessee - 7th Round Pick (221st Overall)

Confirmed, but John Moffitt is still available for you if you want him as part of this trade.

John Moffitt - G - 0.5 Stars

You can always cut him if you don't need him/get better players. He's a quality depth guard, though.

This again? Seriously? I call for a veto. As a matter of fact, wasn't this already vetoed last year?
Lol. For the sake of karma I'm with you

Something has to be added to the trade. There's absolutely no sense whatsoever in trading back without gaining anything. We've had this exact situation happen in one of our previous Mocks, and it was vetoed on good reason. I'm looking for it right now.

I'm offering him John Moffitt. He can always accept it. I'd relax a little. Need any metoprolol? Lol.

Official Trade:

New York (G)- 96th Pick

Detroit: 107th Pick
It was met with overwhelming critical response, and Detroit was forced into surrendering a 7th as a part of the trade, or else it would've been nullified.

That's completely different, though. I'm not trying to argue that. I'm keeping my opinion to myself here. But that's an exceptionally high pick. I can see why it would have been vetoed. This is the 7th round.

We both know that if it were any other team, you'd criticize it as well. You're intelligent enough to know that there's zero logic in this move on his part as it stands.

How is it any different? He's allowing you to move up for free, regardless of the round we're in. It's the same exact situation. The only reason you're defending it is because you're a part of it.

I'm not defending or supporting it. I'm merely saying that's a different circumstance and I can easily see why that would have had a lot of criticism. I'm keeping my opinion on this matter to myself as I don't want to cause any problems.

I'm really trying to get him to take John Moffitt, as I don't need him anymore and I can see he needs guard depth.

Revised to add Moffit. I still don't see the big deal as it's just 7th round picks.

Now that JO has confirmed the revised trade, I will tell you my opinion on it:

1. I didn't like the idea of moving up without giving up nothing. It didn't seem right with me. I'm glad I gave him something, as I really do believe Moffitt is a good depth guard & if he can't get better he has a quality player as insurance. He can always cut him as well.
2. With that addressed, my problem with what you say is this: we don't veto on value. This is a value veto, plain & simple. I didn't want to say it earlier, as it would appear I am trying to make an argument to fit my needs. That's not the case. We have a rule to not veto value. If that's the case, then how can you veto this, regardless of how you feel about it? I thought the veto process was for trading franchise players? Not 7th round picks.

That's my opinion.

I'm glad that it didn't sit right with you as well. However, this can't be a value veto as there was no value. It's the same exact sentiment as trading Calvin Johnson for a lesser WR. He received absolutely nothing in return. We took a trade to a vote for suspicion of collusion simply because both teams had a more direct means of communication, when both sides actually gained something in return. In this trade, one team allowed another to move up for free. I don't see how that didn't cross the laws of collusion, whether it be intentional or not.

There was absolutely no collusion there at all. I actually messaged JO offering Moffitt & my 7th to move up to his pick. I won't explain what transpired, as that's our business. Regardless, there wasn't any collusion. Of that, I can assure you. I'm happy we got it worked out so others will be satisfied, though. I'm also glad JO got a good depth guard. He might cut him later, but he's a quality depth guard IMO & good insurance if someone else takes a player he is targeting.

We can agree to disagree regarding the definition of the trade. It's a moot point either way, as we both did what was originally offered.

PS: please update the draft thread.

If there was, it would've been purely unintentional. I was arguing how the basis of a trade such as that one, and how it seemed from the outside looking in. He definitely got solid depth in the revision. And I also agree to disagree, especially since it's been addressed. I just updated it.

It's collusion if you move up for free with its meant or not. No ifs or buts about it grim. That initial trade was not going to happen, ever.

The Saints are still looking to part with Malcolm Jenkins and possibly another player for a very solid DB. PM me if you have anyone in mind.

Saints looking to part with Jenkins? That is a shocker! Is he healthy now? I know he ended the season on IR.
He should be. He was reportedly placed on IR because of high probability of reaggravating the hamstring injury, along with the fact that they were mathematically eliminated from the Playoff race. I honestly don't have a clue as to why he performed that poorly. In my opinion, the onus falls on the players to preform. But with the defense being historically bad, outside of a few players, I do wonder how much the presence of Steve Spagnuolo had to do with the overall struggles, especially given that he was publicly criticized after his firing. He fared much better in their aggressive scheme under Gregg Williams, earning his first All-Pro nod, so there is a glimmer of hope with Rob Ryan manning the DC position. There's no hiding that there are still questions surrounding Jenkins, but at 25, in a contract year, I wouldn't be surprised to see him return to his former self.

Yeah nobody seems to want to trade out of the 7th. Feel free to look at my depth chart and see if there is someone you want.

I only have a 7th round comp. Kinda tight for me there.

I will trade you All-Pro CB Brendian Ross for Maurice Jones-Drew, though. MOJO's been injury-prone. It's about time for him to hang 'em up.
