2013 Forum Draft: Trades

I am usually against vetoing trades but this is absurd. The Lions may have lost the trade even WITHOUT including Suh. There is no way that is best value available. Hell, I'll offer something better right now.

They did lose the trade even without Suh.

giving up a third to move from 12th overall to 5th overall is already a sweet deal for whoever gets 5th...adding Suh is ummm..ya

Official Trade:

Miami Dolphins send first round pick (12) and 3rd round pick (84)

to

Detroit Lions for Ndamukong Suh (11 stars) and first round pick (5)
Veto. Unrealistic. This is more unrealistic than anything I did. Suh is a top-5 DT, maybe top-3. There's no way this is even realistic, even with the cap hit.

Oh boy.....

He's losing a pro bowler in Starks, and I was prob going to trade 5th overall anyway..
I get enough money to resign my players, and a 3rd rounder in addition to it. Along with a solid draft spot. Not only that, but I also get enough money back to go out and get a good FA in the secondary....

He on the other hand, a team that is alot worse (Lions had a down year due to playing in tough divsion, and tough scheduel), with a rookie QB, got a great DT, along with Solia. If anything, he can go up there, and get a solid DB, which he deperatley needs....

It is not a great trade by any means, but go ahead and veto it... It is not HORRENDOUS.... I still get a top 15 pick, he may move up, but I was going to trade that anyway..

My team was going to lose playes, I needed PICKS. I would rather have a solid Dline, without said arrogent DT (SUH) while getting more picks to increase the amount of players that will leave due to cap hell.

I at least get Cap Room, I can go sign more players......

Go ahead and veto

He was going to do what? The heck.
I would not have CUT Suh, but I need all the cap money I can get at this point.

So you want us to re-work it without the swapping of first round picks?
Whatever works. I am going to need all the picks I can get

If it goes to veto, my answer is no. Lions would never trade him in real life. Plus that is a rip off like others have said.
we Re just discussing this ATM. It's not gone to a vote yet, I dunno if there is even much point, its a good 6 or 7 to 1 to veto.

Veto isn't to stop rip-offs. That's a subjective opinion, Mr. Irrelevant was desperate to get cap room. I made the best offer he got so he took it. We can ammend it to a a degree, but because outside GMS think a trade is unfair is not enough reason to veto.

Unfair trades happen all the time. A 3rd pick for Jurell Casey is an unfair trade, but it happened (and Casey doesnt have an albatross of a contract)
I agree, the premise of the veto was to stop Johnson being traded, or Brady, manning, ray rice. Not blocking unfair trades

I'm not vetoing it because it's not fair. It's unrealistic for the Lions to drop Suh.

According to http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/detroit-lions/ndamukong-suh/, Suh has a cap hit of 12 Stars, with 6 Stars guaranteed as a bonus. As you previously stated, it's unrealistic for the Lions to trade one of their best--no, their best--defensive player. The fans would be in an uproar over this.

The argument can be made Suh should be in that list.

I agree the system is not perfect but we might as well try and change it up from last year. Does not mean you cant renegotiate a deal after similar to the other trade just more 'equitable'

Putting high 6th round pick to low 7th round pick on Palmer, Tommy Kelly, and Rolando McClain....
Not garnering much interest?

Really? I think Detroit fans are pretty fed up with Suh's antics. Trading him is no different than trading an Andrew Whitworth or Chris Johnson.
its exactly the same as Johnson. Whitworth was worse than both because he's a decent player and isn't an idiot whom teams don't want around.

Whats up with the Dolphins and getting steals in these mocks? First Orakpo, a 2nd, and a 3rd for a top ten pick. Now this.
Too bad they can't pull this in real life...
