Any concensus on a day and time?  Should we start sign ups now, give a 24 hour sign up period, do the random number generator, make picks by Monday at 7?

 

If everyone's fine with the idea of utilizing a version of the UDFA format, the I can't disagree with any of this. I'd say the sign-ups should happen today at 7 PM, tomorrow at the latest. My only concerns are, who would use the random number generator, and have we come to a consensus regarding the costs?

Thank you for offering. We still have to figure that part out. I'd say that we should have a vote, but I'm not sure if that would take up too much time.

That's a very good idea. This would kill two birds with one stone. .25 is an interesting one. I was also thinking of adding the first one free and the rest being .5 Stars.

Personally, I say make the free agents free. Here's my thought process on it: everyone had had an opportunity to bid on these guys. People passed. A lot of teams bid with the idea of using all their cap. Furthermore, if we cut these players nobody can bid on them anyway. They're essentially out of jobs. In the real NFL you can sign guys at any time.

I just feel like it's unnecessary now to charge a cap hit on these guys. You can implement many methods to prevent abuse. My greatest concern is someone having the opportunity to select back to back bids. That's why I am against a true free for all.

Whatever the time limit it should be short. This doesn't need to take long or require heavy thought.

We can add the 90 player limit to balance it a bit. Or We could reduce that limit. Just an idea.

I feel like I made my stance on FA very clear. Just in case I haven't, I'll summarize simply: 

 

1. These free agents should be that--free.

2. We operate off of the rule of 51. Under that rule, NFL teams abuse it all the time to fill up their rosters to have camp competitions. That's what this is.

3. These players would either be cut after training camp, or would be retained on the team & others cut in favor of these veterans.

4. Everyone had a shot at these players at least once in most cases. 

5. We must prevent any one member from being able to initially make consecutive bids/signings within a short duration, as that would be grossly unfair. 

6. I don't mind a roster cap, where we must operate under a certain amount of players, thereby limiting the amount of FA we sign. Also, if draft picks are cut or UDFAs are cut, those players should be eligible to enter the pool after a 24hour period. 

7. I don't know how we can do it, but I feel we should mix up the order. It's about time.

Definitely. I'd say at 7 PM, if that works for everybody.

We have never had any player cost .25 stars. It's either free or .50 stars. I don't see any other way working.

You can always make cuts if needed

Someonecshould make an executive decision as to where to sign up and vote for what cost you want. If the cost is too much pervthevvote you can just drop out then.
