49er fans complaining

It really is an odd situation in regards to 49er fans. Having not dealt with them too much, it confused me that sooooooo many fans of other teams came in to wish us luck in the SB and every one of them called them 40-whiners. I totally understand now.
I think this is what got me. I was caught completely off-guard by it. I think we've played them, what, twice in the last 8 years or something before the SB? I had no experience with their fanbase. I know some 49-ers fans and they are good people. So when a lot of the Seahawks fans were badmouthing them as arrogant and whiners, I didnt understand it. I think what also set me off a bit at first was that they were trying to invalidate the Ravens and the win because of one play at the end. The hypocrisy of that after how they won the game against the Falcons was overwhelming.

To me, I can see Joe, Eli, and Big Ben all valid number 5 QBs. With Matt Ryan at 8. But yeah, to me, those three are interchangeable.

To me, Ryan, is a better Romo. Both talented, but for some inexplicable reason, aren't able to get it done so far.
I agree ... I know BB has had injury issues and at times in his career he hasn't shown up for big game but I don't see how he was ranked below Ryan. I get the feeling BB is going to get a second wind and has the stuff left to make a run, but I dunno if their cap problems will get a team around him soon enough to do it.

Let it go. We won.

This place would have gotten ugly if we lost as well. Excuses are a natural defense mechanism. You look at other's faults to make you feel better about yourself.
They were offending Ray Lewis, the ravens fans, the organization, not to mention they had some very cruel remarks about O.J. Brigance. I agree, though, "let it go, we won".

In their defense they only lost by 3 points (after the safety). They came about as close as winning as possible, and if they got that first play before the time ran out then they'd have gotten a touchdown.
ok and if joe hadn't of been sacked ....and if the coaches of the 49ers would have left the lights on ... we won they lost because Kaepernick couldn't make the throws he needed too .
both teams left plays on the field that day . the ravens won the game . i deleted this post three times and changed it . the truth is we won they lost and there fans made these forums a horrible place to be for two solid weeks before the game .i felt bad for Patrick willis when i saw him crying on the sideline but better him then Ray lewis and i'm going to be good and not attack vernon davis .karma will deal with him.

I noticed that too. I fixed it.

The funniest thing about the nickname is that they think it's 40-winers because they're classy (a la wine and cheese). Literally the height of delusion.

What conspiracy?
Some have said the Ravens were the benefactor of a conspiracy to 'hand them' the game. Ray Lewis' retirement, the non-calls, someone ignorantly referred to OJ as 'some guy in a wheelchair', and a litany of other things are all said to be reasons that the Ravens would be given the game.

Yes this was on that 49ers forum. Yes multiple people posted this. Yes, there are still people whining about it. No, they were not joking. People never cease to amaze.

I'm rather disappointed overall with the flack we've gotten from the 49ers before, during and after the Super Bowl.

I used to thoroughly enjoy watching them play, and would always root for them against whoever they were playing. The fanbase seems to react very similarly to how Jim reacts when something doesn't go his way...

I have met 2 Niner fans in person and like them both-- my husbands best man at our wedding and Browns Fan who posts here wife -- I got blindsided with the fans we had here the 2 weeks prior to the SB.
Jim Harbaugh was really good to the rec football program in NW Balto Co giving autographed stuff for auctions and all when he was a Raven. I have no hate for any fan base right now lol
For the most part i am in Raiders/Chargers territory and have been for 10 years now and this year there were Niner fans appearing out of nowhere and Super Bowl weekend they tripled. I received some "Friendly" comments from them but nothing to get uptight over. My Ravens gear definitely got their attention and they just stared. A lot of people stare down at their keyboards and make stupid comments that they probably regret later.

I just read and marvel. Heck, they are expanding this thing even more now. Add into the SB conspiracy the fact that Ogden made it into the HOF this year and two 49ers didn't. And apparently, according to some, the possibility is strong that Michael Vick was coerced by Goddell/The NFL into going to Philly instead of a West Coast team. I'm sure they're right, even though I remember it being no other team seemed to want to put a hand on VIck after he came out of prison.

I know marijuana is legal here in WA state, but what the heck are they smoking in San Francisco? They're 5 seconds away from invoking the Illuminati and little gray aliens from Zeta Reticuli as the reasons they lost.

Is this on the official forums?
Yep. They are all convinced that they were ordained by fate to go 6-0 in Super Bowls and that the only reason they have a god awful blemish on their beautiful SB record is because the Ravens were a better story and the NFL wanted them to win. Neglecting the fact that, if anything, the blackout was manufactured so that they were even in that game in the first place. If there was any conspiracy in that game, that was it.

How arrogant and spoiled do you have to be to be upset that your record in SBs is 5-1 when there teams that have never even sniffed the SB? Pathetic.

I've seen the conspiracy ones on pretty much every 49ers forum, including the official one. Don't remember seeing the Ogden or Vick ones on the official forum, but have on at least three of the fan ones including ProSportsDaily and ESPN 49ers forums.

What makes this even more ridiculous is that if you weigh all of the non calls, calls and the Great Blackout, you would think the opposite is true.

Yea, that just confuses them with facts. They don't do well with facts. Like the complaints about penalties. If you point out the Ravens were 2-for-20 and the 49ers 5-for-33 all game their brains seize up.

After my earlier epiphany, reading their stuff is actually pretty funny. It's like, I get the joy of the Superbowl and a bonus of a 49ers fan circus that reminds me of those low budget UFO investigation videos from the 90's.

I have been on the official forums the 49er fans are saying exactly whats posted here I didn't see anything about vick though. and i have also seen that we benefitted from the power outage so its hard to follow there logic in every conspiracy there is a grain of truth but i can't find it. For two solid weeks i couldn't find a basketball score without sitting through an hour or 5 of Kaepernick this and that . i thought everyone but ravens fans had handed them the lombardi before the game was played . no clue how they get from here to there . crabtree initiated the hold not smith

Exactly what I was referring to - "hell, they even have some guy in a wheelchair on the sideline"

Funniest thing though, the 9ers fans feel like they were made victim by the Ravens and the MEDIA, who supposedly pictured them as "the bad guys". Can you believe that?

LOL like your sig

For all the points they conjure, there are equal/more points that went against us. It's football! Stuff happens! The better team is the one that preservers and executes when it has to.

Pretty funny. Especially considering the drama surrounding Ray over the whole two weeks, the manlove for Kap, no mention of Crabtree's sexual assault (but they drag up Ray's 2000 issues), the 4.5 favorite 49ers, etc etc. Everyone here was pissed with what the media was saying.

Well, we won, they lost... Time for SF fans to get over it...

Oh, and I am hearing talk on how Flacco is overrated now?

You mean the guy who came out and made your defense, in the first half with no blackout, look like a COLLEGE DEFENSE? A D who had NO answer for Flacco?

Yep, I guess he is overrated, bc your D sucks

I was once stationed at a Navy base in a burb of San Fran called Alameda which sat right between Oakland and San Fran. So not only did I get to deal with 9ers fans, but Raiders as well; quite a 1-2 punch.
The only interesting thing my entire time there I found was the steep inclined roads, and when I ran into Michael Jackson in downtown Oakland. Outside of that, the whole area was pretty boring to me.

Wow. Seeing it again, and in slo-mo, it is clear that if any flag was going to be thrown, it would have been for OPI.
