49er fans complaining

217 posts in this topic

I have found out if you just let it go and ignore them, you'll feel so much better. I can't believe the number of fans of other teams who have sent me messages saying, "And that's why we call them the 40-whiners .. ignore them, we do."

Barring that, you can watch this and giggle:

It was a blatant hold that would have been called in any regular season game. But the refs let the teams decide the game and I applaud them for that. So in this case, even though by the letter of the rules it was a penalty, It was a good non-call.
Actually, under the rules it wasn't a hold because the ball was in the air. It COULD have been pass interference, but since the receiver initiated contact, that was pretty much out of the question, too.

Their team was completely outmatched until a shanked punt and Ray Rice fumble that bounced their way all but spotted their offense 2 redzone trips. Then we lost our best defender for the night. And a missed field goal graciously negated by a foul ultimately gave them 3 more points. By the end we had a 5 point lead but decided to end the game with a safety, giving them the illusion of having come within a field goal of only tying us.

The second half of the game was extremely generous in terms of luck for that team and they still lost.

Any show I've seen that broke down the plays in the SB pointed out how Kap didn't make good decisions and had some poor throws, guys were open but he didn't even look their way, etc. Basically he's good but he showed his inexperience in that game, which is understandable given that it was only his 10th start. He will get much better, but yeah most niners fans I've seen are pretty delusional and embarrassingly whiny/bitter. No objectivity or reason at all.

And as far as "the hold" goes, all you have to do to shut that down is show them the gif of the non-call on Bowmans hold on Roddy White (which is more blatant than Smith/Crabtree if anything) that won them that game. If we "shouldn't have won" then they shouldn't have even been there. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Actually wrong. whether the reciever initiated contact or not the defender had a fist full of jersey. Thats a hold 17 Sundays in a row. It could easily have been called but I'm glad it wasn't. the whining would have been unbearable.

Funny how I haven't heard the ESPN QBR people ever bring that up!
I don't get why anyone would even bring up Joe's performance. He had the highest Superbowl QBR since 2008 (that's when ESPN started using QBR). In more traditional stating, he was 22-of-33 for 287 yards, 3 TDs and 0 INTS. That's a 124.2 Passer Rating. Apparently math isn't some people's strong suit.

You can NOT call a holding penalty when the ball is in the air. At that point, it can only be called Pass Interference (either Offensive or Defensive). Since Crabtree initiated the contact and pushed off, the absolute best that the 9ers could have hoped for was that it would be offseting penalties. The fact that not even people who played, coached and officiated in the NFL can agree on whether it should be called or not says pretty much everything about it.

This whole "hold" thing is ridiculous. Does anyone remember the missed pass interference call in the first half on Torrey Smith, that would've been a touchdown. The point is, it's football. Calls will be made and missed, I think the sports media is just angry because they all picked SF. Quit trying to justify your bad picks and suck it up. GO RAVENS!

Once they explain why they didnt get away with one here and how it was legal they can use that same logic to explain why the ravens call was a no call. If hey feel with should have been flagged then they can admit they shouldn't have been playing in n.o

I can't believe that some people think that the NFL conspired to have the Ravens to win the SB. Really?

Obviously they don't remember how hard it was trying to get a team BACK to Baltimore. The fight we had to put up against the NFL was unreal. Then to say the NFL wanted the team, with one of the smallest media markets, to win the SB is laughable. The NFL doesn't get much out of Baltimore Football. WE HAVE TO TAKE WHAT WE EARNED and that's all folks!
While I will agree that it is ludicrous that to say the NFL wanted the Ravens to win, the context of how hard it was to get a team is a little skewed. Tagliaboo-boo sad face was the commissioner then and made it obvious that he had no love for Baltimore but it was fairly clear from the postseason that Goodell is a fan of Ray Lewis. He came to all our games for no apparent reason lol. Lewis is the most respected guy across the league so it makes sense, was just cool to see our mortal enemy the Commish showing some love.

Ok all you need to know about QBR to know its a joke is that Tim Tebow is #2 on the list.

Was probably just hanging around waiting to hand Pollard his fine for the week personally.
I KNOW that and so do you but that's what talking heads use and opposing fans use. I swear half the talking heads have never seen one of our games they use stat lines and made up ratings .

It's always tough for the Super Bowl losers.. Let them vent, just ignore their rants, they will be fine.
If one visits the niners mb they say they should be allowed to vent. That is true
But if ravens fans want to vent about the excuses people make then they should be allowed to as well.

Leading up to the Super Bowl John madden told Jim harbaugh that he team that complains the most loses the Super Bowl
So when comments were made about practice field at Tulane I read sf fans being up the fact that we were complaining
So I'm more than happy to reiterate to them losers complain
Last season justin smith and Alex smith all made comments about stats being for losers, Alex geared at cam newton. So when they talk about what they did to our old defense is it not appropriate to reply "stats are for losers"

Lastly they c tinted to talk about how ray Lewis was a distraction, so we would lose. How the pep rally going to n.o showed we were just happy to beat n.e. so we were going to lose, and how stout their defense is and how flacco hasn't played a good defense yet.

So yup its easy to just ignore and say we won, its funner to break down how we did what many there said we wouldn't

i found this the other day:

http://imgur.com/a/SGoSi#0

i used it to illustrate to a ranting 49ers fan that it was without question the right call, and if anybody initiated illegal contact, it was michael crabtree. the pass was clearly overthrown and i don't think any receiver could have caught that ball and come down with both feet in anyway. but if michael crabtree had spent half the energy trying to catch the ball that he did in pushing jimmy off, he might have had a chance. 49ers fan was very quiet after that.

i am over the 49ers, the fans etc.yes Kaepernick has a bright future why any football fan in there right mind thought he was going to win after 9 starts shows no football intelligence at all . best to ignore the whole lot of them
In their defense they only lost by 3 points (after the safety). They came about as close as winning as possible, and if they got that first play before the time ran out then they'd have gotten a touchdown.

That's beautiful. There was lots of missed calls BOTH ways but the 49ers are clinging hard.

indeed they are. i've actually lost a little bit of respect for their franchise because of the multitude of classless post-superbowl fallout from the fans. it's a shame, a franchise as proud as theirs should deserve better from the fanbase

That's good stuff right there. Seeing it in real time live during the game I thought Crabtree initiated all the contact then pushed Smith down by the face. I would have been irate if a flag was thrown on Smith.
