Matt Ryan's contract

57 posts in this topic

who wanna guess Ryan's paycheck after Joe sign his 20mil contract?

Ryan: I'm elite during the regular season, I need to get paid like Joe does..
Arthur: What's about post-season?
Ryan: huh...

I just have this building fear that QBs contracts are going to escalate after every year. The SB winning QB is going to want to renegotiate their contract to be the highest paid QB in the NFL. I see it coming....

It should be interesting. Falcons will overpay Ryan, I'm almost certain of it. And the press will all say how he deserved it because they all claimed Ryan the better QB of the draft. They have to keep up appearances you know.

Me, though. I'll be highly amused when Ryan chokes in the playoffs year after year, knowing the Falcons are paying through the nose for such performances.

I just saw the top ten plays in 2012 and playoffs and the top 2s are Ryan and Manning but #3 is Flacco.

So I guess Ryan will get paid like Manning....

I won't lie, it makes me smile a bit knowing Flacco has 9 playoff wins and Ryan has 1. One game that he almost blew no less throwing 2 second half INTs. Should be interesting to see how Ryan does without Gonzalez. Gonzalez has moved like a dump truck the past couple of seasons but he sure knows how to use his frame to shield defenders away from him. He was an automatic 3rd down converter for the Falcons.

Word. Tony was on the bench afterwards telling anyone who would listen that he was open.

Don't even know why Ryan threw that ball. In traffic, short of the first, and he had all kinds of time.

I think he was trying to draw a pass interference/holding flag on Bowman. Risky decision relying on the refs to basically decide the game, but it was probably the best choice.

Perhaps but they will rarely if ever throw the flag in that situation, especially when its within the 5 yd contact area.

I personally think it was better than chancing it on Gonzales. White was clearly held and there should have been a flag thrown, but the refs weren't gonna decide the game.

Tony G was still saying he was wide open as he sat on the bench. I don't think White was held, definitely contacted but again within the 5 yards. And the refs gave the Falcons as much help as they needed with the Harry Douglas 'catch' aka the Jim Harbaugh explosion.

Isn't he the security blanket for 3rd down conversion with 99% success?

When your NFC championship on the line, isn't your HOF TE a go-to-guy in that situation?

Ryan is clearly choked on the last play cuz he didn't know what to do with the football, additionally failed to read the 49ers coverage.......

He was playing with a separated shoulder, the short throw might have been the only one he could legitimately make.

When he signs he'll be the highest paid in the league, too. Flacco said it at his press conference, that's just the way it goes, these guys leapfrog each other. Matt Ryan is not worth $20M, Joe isn't either, NO player is but that's how bloated the QB market is. That's what you have to pay these guys.

Check out the Falcons forum, their convinced Matt Ryan will take a paycut for them. LOL fat chance, he'll get his money.

lmao!..omg I almost wet my pants....

Ryan's lovers still make their stands to support Ryan's big paid day by listing his beautiful stats in the regular season but refusing to indicate the playoff stats. That's so cracking me up....

So Ryan, 1-4 in playoff with choke artist will make more money than Joe, 9-4 in playoff in 5 straight years with a SB ring and MVP SB? I don't know the logic in that one.

However, I hope Arthur paid him that much so the Falcons will bury in grave for next 6 years....

PS: I will ignore whoever brings up Joe isn't worth 20mil.......

My favorite part about Falcons fans is when you talk about Ryan, he's "the winningest NFC quarterback", but when you compare him to Flacco suddenly "it's a team game!".

Wow, those comments are brutal. I think some Falcon fans are developing Flacco-envy

Seems like they're developing "Flacco-envy" towards Ryan, lol

totally they are in denial stage...can't blame them with all the the hype of Ryan who is going to be the best QB ever; all of the sudden, Joe, bashed by media, fans around the world and some Ravens fan single-handedly won the SB and MVB. It just shocked the whole Joe's hater world....Ryan right now is in far far rear mirror of Joe's success...

Poor Falcon fans. After years of touting Ryan's regular season stats, diligently claiming he would win a SB before Flacco, reality has hit them square in the face. They are going to pay through the nose just to look good in the regular season, and chokers in the post season.
