It was an awesome sack
And I got to see Tom fall flat on his face...

Wow, that was awesome. Seriously tho... For as good as their team plays on the field ( in general). Their fan base is weak. Anyone else go to the Playoff game this year? They were not loud at all, left with 8 minutes left in the game, and there were a ton of Ravens fans in the stadium. Talk about a bandwagon town.

I dont think we would ever be this bad. +25 thread about an opponents team in 1week? That's pretty extreme
I don't know. But hypothetically, lets say the Pats won the Super Bowl and would therefore open up on Thursday night. I'm sure we'd have a thread floating around wondering if we would be their opponent on week 1. We'd be spewing how its a great rivalry to open up with and a rematch of the AFCCG. That's probably the reason for their curiosity.

It's simple. They know that they can't beat us. If you go back to every game we've played against them over the last 5 years we've either beaten them..or got screwed out of a victory.
We're in their heads now and it's beautiful.

They see that the future of dominance in the AFC is right here.

The Pats play in a division with who? Buffalo?Miami?Jets? Lol So when you constantly have a cupcake schedule due to lack of talent in your division, it's a much easier road. The Patriots beat up on weak teams, and pad their stats but when it's time to buckle up both chin skraps and play big boy football, they can't and they know it.

Is it possible that we now have two rivals? The games between the Ravens and the Patriots are always huge ratings draws. I can only imagine the faces of the pundits, analysts, commentators etc if we beat the Pats for the third time in a row on opening night.

Also keep in mind we didn't just beat the Patriots in the playoffs, we straight up demoralized their team and fan base. Wilfork was quoted after the game saying he didn't even know if he wanted to play any more. They're the pretty boy who's momma told him he was special and couldn't be beaten (see: Nick Caner-Medley). Well that pretty boy just got punched in the mouth and he's still in a daze.

oh...they had about +3 threads dedicated to Bernard Pollard. Shoud've added those too..rofl

I have a friend who is a diehard pats fan, and he said he would NEVER cheer for Baltimore to even win a coin toss as long as Pollard was on our team....

I think its interesting how ugly and unproffesional their forum is. Also I think its hilarious that they have labeled themselves the "Best fans on earth"

They have some very observant writers. Under New Articles,"Winning a Super Bowl is tough."

Man reading through the "Congrats" forum is some of the most classless, arrogant, bandwagon bull crap I have ever seen. I would just see the Pats as a cool tough rival, but their fanbase makes it EXTREMELY difficult to do anything but hate them. I mean, for crying out loud, you are not entitled to anything in the NFL. You want to win, play! Ever since Brady joined that team, Foxborough has been cultivating a bunch of whiners who cant seem to admit that 1, nobody else in the NFL likes them, and 2. just because you ahve Brady does not mean the NFL automatically awards you a SB. Get up, get over it, or get out of the game.

I have the unfortunate pleasure of having Patriots fans around me here in New York. So I'm forced to think about them.
Let me recount the reactions in the playoffs

Ravens winning against the Broncos
"Good we can beat up the Ravens just like last year."

Ravens winning against the Patriots
"That was head to head contact! There should have been a flag!"

Before the Super Bowl
"Kaepernick will destroy them in a blowout, you can't stop them."

After the Super Bowl

"There is no way you can tell me that WASN'T holding at the end!"

I had to shut them up by reminding them that they haven't won a Super Bowl in 8 years and lost to the same team twice in the Super Bowl.
All I can say is we have a real deal rivalry here, I've yet to meet a classy Pats fan, it'll take a while until I'll see one.

Reading the threads is making me extremelt angry, and I am not sure why Im still doing it, but its good to see that at least one or to people on their forums arent complete egotists living in a delusional state of being.

Heres a quote from one of them:
All this "thug" talk is absurd. If you think Rodney, Tedy, and Vrabel weren't on the same level as trash talkers you are kidding yourselves. And I haven't seen any dirty play by any member of the Ravens, and I've seen quite a few of their games. Anyone that wouldn't want Lewis, REed, Pollard and Suggs on their team in their primes is full of it.

That's pretty funny, and definitely a bit weird as well.

They have surpassed Browns fans in obsessive creepiness, and I honestly didn't think that was possible.

With the Patriots it's more of a "gripery" than a rivalry. They feel the same way about us that we (to a lesser to degree) feel about the Texans. We want to revenge on the Texans because we whooped up on them for so long and then they destroyed us last year. To the Patriots, up until the playoff game a couple years ago we were just a team they liked to beat up. Now the tables have turned in a big way.

We would feel the same way if a team like, say, the Titans suddenly started beating us. Their fan base hates us with a passion similar to how we felt about the Patriots before we started beating them.

Hmmm. So next season, we have the 5th toughest schedule, while the Pats have 12th. Denver comes in at dead last, 32nd.
Most of that has to do with the divisions we play in. We play in the toughest division in football and both the Pats and Broncos have powder puff divisions.

However, as we saw, our team is forged over the course of the season whereas the Pats and Broncos breeze through the regular season and then get hammered in the playoffs from a lack of mental (and often physical) toughness.

panda your kid sounds like a amazing young man. best comeback ever. not just from a kid but ever.

im sad that i havent met anyone in real life that wants to discuss these things. anytime i hear someone talk about what happened in atlanta, first thing i ask "were you there?" and that shuts them up most of time. the mouth breathers are a bit tricky to deal with but the level of their stupidity is like a weakness for me. i love it and have to feed it.

Different - division rivals, play 2-3 times a year.
To be fair, do they really have a rival in their division? Not reall all 3 of the other teams are a joke and somehow actually getting worse. Jets got lucky a couple times but they are fading away.

It seems to be a common theme on any team's message board when Ray Lewis is mentioned suddenly hundreds of posters become a member of the State Bar. Somehow they are able to study evidence that no one else has access to and are able to give a definitive answer pertaining to Ray's guilt. It is incredible.
To be fair there are plenty that call big ben a '[profanity deleted]' equally ridiculous and insulting.

Very sore losers. Many seem to think they have a "right" to be in the Super Bowl every year, and that they should be winning it constantly. Given the fact that they haven't won a Super Bowl in 8 years, and have lost two in that time, including the almost undefeated season you could understand them being disappointed.

They just don't seem to be able to see the failings of their team in games they lose.

I only took threads that were made after february 3rd, and left out topics threads that had discussion about both 49ers/Ravens or another team. They have 10 more past month, but I didn't bother digging them out.

Half of them (im being gracious) are all baseless accusation and whining like sore losers. It's incredible how much they talk about us. This is about +25 threads about Ravens...all within under a week....and all of these threads are from just one FORUM
LOL this is good work!

The Pats fans I went to college with are SO salty about it. Talking mad shiz on FB about us winning. Idiots.

Maybe it's because they have never won a Super Bowl without cheating? Who knows.

The Pats are a good team, but they aren't a "great team". This usually end up an number two or one seed many due to them being in the weakest or second weakest division in the AFC, take your pick between the AFC West or AFC East. They normally go 6-0 withinin their division thanks to the ineptitude of the Dolphins, Bills and Jets, and they normally lose 4 out of their 10 non conference games(usually to teams with good defenses). I said this before, and I stand by it. The Patriots would not survive if they were in the AFC North and had to play us twice a year along with the Steelers, it's just no way. Here's their schedule for 2013.

Home Buffalo, Miami, N.Y. Jets, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Denver

Away Buffalo, Miami, N.Y. Jets, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Carolina, Houston

They actually have some real competition besides us( Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Atlanta, Houston, Cincinnati) for once, parish the thought.Of course the Ravens are in he Patriot fans heads. For the longest time, they enjoyed being the cat's meow of the AFC. They are use to sports pundits singing their praises. It is very upsetting to them that another team is now challenging them for AFC supremacy but what they hate the most is that the Ravens know how to beat them.

Great QB play is the key to dominance, imho. If the Ravens manage to save Joe Flacco's Montana-like playoff performance (literally) into the regular season (and let's face it. This will be priority number one for the FO), the Ravens might establish themselves as the "team to beat" in the AFC, replacing the Pats. With a great defense we were close, but never quite there. I can see why NE fans might be nervous. "Their time" might be over.
