You all are saying it was a joke, but what if it wasn't and he really met it.
Thoughts?

Cool

He didn't actually do anything and they won. Deal with it,

I'd have even more respect for him for being willing to take a risk to win the game. In fact, he probably was NOT joking. I think he'd have done it.

Yea agree, this really paints Flacco as a joke, reeks of major embarrassment to the Ravens organization. I hope we don't hear any more antics or he will be compared to Jay Cutler.

I shudder to think what would have happened had he believed that the ST unit was missing tackles and he went in and actually made a tackle because he was dead serious about making a tackle if that guy got through! Whew! All's well that ends well I guess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I was just asking a serious question. Sorry I'm not a Flacco lover, I'm not sold on him yet. The article (in my opinion) made him look like he was dead serious. If it was a joke then its water under the bridge, no problem.
But, if he was 100 percent serious and ready to leave the side lines, oh boy, that's big..

I don't think it matters. We won. It didn't happen.

If he was serious, I think it speaks to how competitive he is and how bad he wants to win. He's a gamer. Someone that relishes going into battle and coming out the victor. Can't complain about a guy who wants to win above all else.

Of course the article made it look like he was dead serious, that's the story that will get viewers and clicks, not the one titled "Flacco jokes on sideline". I don't blame readers who didn't see the footage and hear the audio in context and read an article like that and believe it, except that anyone reading anything should at least fact check before basing their opinion and parroting it as a fact

A sensible response I can agree on.

You don't have to be a "Flacco lover" to realize he was joking. And seeing as how he nor anyone else ran onto the field, it's not big at all.

Wow, none issue. Heck, I say off the cuff things all the time. I'd be in a heap of trouble if people outside of the construction crew I work with took half the things I said seriously.

I thought it was absolutely hilarious. It's obvious he was joking, but even if he wasn't I would have died laughing if he had actually run on the field to try to stop a return TD.

If he had run on the field to tackle ginn, I might have had a TO moment. "That's my quarterback"

Ok guys back to reality
1. No avoiding the profanity filter '00' counts as that
2. Anyone one is allowed to post as long as they follow the rules
3. Ignore is a great tool--you can find it in settings
4, Moron is name calling and a warnable offense.

Good thing he didn't. The refs would have given the 49ers the score anyway, and ejected Flacco.

I thought it was hilarious watching that Sound FX video.

Who gives a damn in the end, if he tackles Ginn the 49ers are awarded an automatic TD. Its not like Flacco would have broken some unwritten rule and found a way to bend the rules so the Ravens would have greased a win.

This whole thing is Mike Florio the complete weiner at his finest/worst.

the media world (and fans that don't like the ravens and/or flacco) are probably going to get their hair in a muss over it, but anybody that knows anything about flacco knows that he has a classic dry sense of humour and was cracking wise.

i mean the nfl cameramen and sound crew were all over him on that sideline... if he was actually considering blatantly cheating on the final play of the super bowl, why would he put it right out there in the open for the world to see...

There's something called a "fair catch kick" that people should use a lot more often (IMO). It's a fun rule where you fair catch the kick and then your kicker gets to kick it from that spot on the field (not 7 yards behind) while the ball is being held. He also gets a running start for the kick (like a kickoff) and the defense has to be 10 yards back. Too bad Koch booted that free kick to the 19. The 49ers would've had to have a kick go 91 yards through the uprights to tie on that type of play.
How do you signal a fair catch kick? And why can't I do that in madden?

Lol I'd love to see a team do that anyday, as long as it isn't against the Ravens for a potential win. Bout damn time Koch finally boomed a punt too. He had a brutal playoff run. Before that punt I was cussing him out to kick the crap out of the ball lol.
