Leave Your Best Tight Ends In Posts In This Thread Please
Dennis Pitta, Ed Dickson, and a veteran or a UDFA.
Mt. Crushmore always makes about a million posts in a minute.
You no longer make a million posts a minute. You make a million trades a minute now....

Dennis Pitta and Ed Dickson please. I like our tight ends, and there is no good reason to pursue a new tight end. We have too many other problems to worry about drafting a possible upgrade to an already great tight end.
There is a large chance that one of Dickson or Pitta will not be back after next season...so pursuing a TE is actually very logical and smart, especially with how critical they can be to both the run and pass game..not sure I would want a rookie taking one of their spots should one leave, I would much prefer a guy who has had one year of development first....It is rather annoying to see people ruin threads just because Brandon makes them, especially when it is a valid argument.
Gavin Escobar, he may go higher than I would be willing to draft a TE but I think he will be a stud.

I agree. I think we should target a TE in this draft at some point, because I think Pitta gets a deal & Dickson goes and gets a deal, as in Pitta stays & Dickson walks. Having a guy in the wing waiting is a smart move and it's one the Ravens typically do--draft replacements for players leaving.

Ok But I still prefer dion simsMy favorite TE in the draft is Ryan Otten out of SanJose State. He is probably the fastest TE in the draft and has pretty good blocking skills...we could get him in the 6th or 7th. We wont take a tight end early in the draft but it wouldnt be stupid to draft one in the 6th or 7th to be a replacment for Ed Dickson, I feel like we could have a better counterpart to Dennis Pitta.

Get him in the 6th. Great blocker, and he had a crummy QB who never saw him wide open. I think this is a solid pick, who would drop to 6 due to injury.
That seems like it was worded wrong...

Phillip Lutzenkirchen.

I agree with this. Lutzenkirchen and Michael Williams are my two favorite TE in this class. If MW gets taken in the 4th or so, then wait till the late 6th or 7th and get Lutzenkirchen. I think he could be the steal of the draft.

I agree, Dickson disappeared for huge spans of the season. I was almost shocked to see him make those two big catches in the Super Bowl simply because I had forgotten how long it had been since he had made a play prior. His hands definitely leave something to be desired but he still poses a speed threat at the position. If we are looking to upgrade we need somebody that has better hands but isn't a downgrade in the speed department. And we can always sign a UDFA or cheap vet for the blocking role in the 3rd TE spot. I thought Bajema filled in admirably this season. My favorite TE in the draft is Ryan Otten out of SanJose State. He is probably the fastest TE in the draft and has pretty good blocking skills...we could get him in the 6th or 7th. Pitta has the whole being Joe's best friend and go to receiver thing going for him. That could be huge leverage over a negotiation table.Let's get two TEs because I could see that we're going to sign Ed Dickson on a one year what-can-you-do-for-me contract. Also, Pitta is going to cash in and we have to see if his asking price is right.

I love Lutzenkirchen. I think I actually put him in my first mock for this year which was right after last years draft ended. Outstanding blocker and deceptive recieving ability.Phillip Lutzenkirchen.
