I'm sorry if I came off like that, I really didn't mean to. Just on here to have some fun, kill some time. Ya know?

Sorry man, my comment wasn't aimed at you. It was aimed at Lamarr Woodley.

Schaub, Cassel---they are garbage. They're managers--no more. Pennington is washed-up. Dalton didn't have a great year, either. I can see Dalton being good, though. He's still too young to really say and on top of it he has AJ-freaking-MoneyGreen! If Flacco had Green, man...I don't even want to imagine.
Yea, Dalton will be good as long as he can learn to get other guys invovled. AJ is a beast no doubt, but Marvin Jones and Jermaine Gresham are difference makers imo. That offense could be one of the best in the NFL imo.

We've been here before Grim, you know i' not one of those guys who think Flacco does know wrong. Of course there are guys out there who should and still are rated higher then Flacco, but when you see/hear foolish like that it's crazy.

All you heard before the SB MVP was that he can't be viewed among the best QBs because he doesn't have a ring. Now he has one, and consistently good numbers to back it up, now you "have" to put Eli and Ben ahead of him because they have 2. Or I heard you still gotta choice Matt Ryan over Flacco because he means more to his team. Laughable.

Yep, meant to edit it and it completely slipped my mind. Apparently my reading today is just completely shot.

Thats what you call good ol fashion karma...we are world champions lead by Joe Flacco, and the Steelers struggle to even make the playoffs. The Steelers are about to lose their best WR, they are cap struck, and have questions surrounding Rothelisburger and his durability. Shoot the Pitt/Bal rivalry has been dead latley, The Patriots are our new rival, maybe Pitt can collect themselvs amd try an give the Browns a run for their money this season haha.

If this year post season was the regular season, after 4 games Flacco would easily be on pace for a pro bowl season. With that said I think our defense will be thin next year...young and not as good as it once was. I think Jim Caldwell keeps the high tempo offensive attack that we saw during the playoffs and keeps letting Flacco managing and winning games. I expect a breakout season for Flacco in 2013- 4000+yards 30TDs 15ints...a pro bowl, and a lot of quiet reporters when it comes to the is Facco elite discussions.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, I'm happy that an AFC North team won the Super Bowl and keeps us the most competitve 2 team division in the NFL. I'm also going to concede the fact that Woods' comments were ridiculous - saying they wouldn't win a Super Bowl when you have (had) the talent on defense you guys had was probably a little silly.

I hope the first game of the season isn't against us. I feel like Steelers - Ravens games are best served in December when it's a) cold as balls outside and b ) when "smashmouth" football is at it's best.

Shoot, I would gladly accept losing to the Steelers every season if it meant another Ravens Super Bowl trophy every time.

Go for the gusto, Lamar.

We'll see I guess. I'm just saying, you guys swept the Bengals and had trouble twice against two back-up Quarterbacks, one of which was 35 years old. I'm not here to rub salt in the wound, but that's what it was and I don't think it's a moon-jump in terms of assuming that if we had Roethlisberger for those games it could've been much worse.

The Bengals aren't a threat on offense or defense. When both the Ravens and Steelers were healthy, the Bengals were outmatched and it really wasn't even close. The score might've been 24 - 17, but holding AJ Green to 1 catch for 8 yards was indicitive of what kind of game that was. Andy Dalton doesn't strike fear into my heart, despite the fact that he's throwing to quite possibly the best WR in the AFC.

Cincy hasn't won a playoff game in a long time
Pittsburgh, like baltimore, knows how to draft and fined FAs to contribute
Long term they will always be viewed as a threat because of franchise stability

Don't kid yourselves, Pittsburgh is always a threat. Yes, the Bengals are dangerous too but ask the Ravens who is the better team and you'll get a unamious answer.
Not from me... I just see that team going through upheaval in the next two years and when the dust settles we won't recognize the team that remains. Players like Harrison and Wallace might be gone this year and Roethlisberger has serious injury concerns and durability issues. They are in a dire cap crisis with many of their key players pushing their mid 30's. Yeah, the organization is still intact but I don't see Pittsburgh being our number one competition for several years. I just see what the Bengals are becoming and am more concerned about them as a threat within the division.

Perhaps not but they still have a solid core despite diminishing players like Polamalu and Roethlisberger.

I agree they are in far worse straits then they have been (it's been a long time coming, too) but Tomlin is a good coach and that is a good organization. I don't count out the Steelers until they're eliminated from contention.
I agree, the AFC North in general is a Slugfest of a division. yes even the Browns. I see them rising in the next couple years. couple that with the Steelers (always a threat) and the up and coming bengals....this Division should might as well be referred to as (like in the Movie Mad Max) Thunderdome! 2 teams enter. 1 team leaves. and referring back to Woodly's comments, it was completely foolish on his part to say a thing like that. nothing is a gimme in this league. no matter WHO you are.

Eh, to each their own I suppose. I've heard all of this before, though, back in '09. We were on the decline, we were too old, no depth, etc. and we went to the Super Bowl in '10. This type of thinking isn't new to Steelers fans, but it's understandable. I wouldn't expect a Ravens fan to be concerned or have any knowledge about the depth we have on our team because frankly, why would you care?

Anyway, I think we can all agree that Woods' comments were a little bit overboard.

The Steelers aren't going anywhere. They've been through things like this before. Lose guys like Porter, Bettis, Bell and Burgess, but replace them with talent as good if not better. I don't see losing Mike Wallace as a big problem because they've been through it with trading Holmes, who was a better overall WR imo. Brown, Sanders, Cothery? and Miller are more then enough for those guys to be successful. They'll probably go back to a run heavy team with Dwyer and Redman, plus their oline should be better because they should be healthy. Defensively, I'll never bet against Dick Labeau. That guy could take a group of offensive players and make them a top 5 defense. I hate the Steelers, but I respect their ability to just retool much like the Ravens. They'll probably draft well again this year and make it tough for the Ravens to make it 3 straight AFCN titles.

The like the youth and potential of the Bengals, but they have to prove they can compete with the Ravens and Steelers consistently. Of course the Ravens are the team to beat, but if I had to rank our biggest threat, i'd rank Pitt, Cincy and Cle to challenge the throne

Right now I say the Bengals. Steelers will always be a threat, but Bengals have killed it in the draft the last 2 years. And I'm not gonna lie. Due to the injuries, I didn't think we'd go far in the playoffs. But we got healthy, Ray announced retirement and then we beat Denver. Once we beat Denver, I knew it was our time. I knew we could beat Brady. And this isn't about who's a threat. This is about an overrated fool running his mouth off and now he looks downright hilarious for it. I mean really? Joe Flacco will never make it to the Super Bowl? If Cundiff made that kick last year, we were going. Joe outplayed Brady last year. And he outplayed Peyton and Brady this year. Not to take anybody seriously in this division is asking for trouble. Clowns may always have a losing streak, but all of our teams in the AFC North hit harder than the teams in all other divisions.

I think the Steelers will be improved next year. I see a better OL in their future to give Ben time & to help the run game. They'll need to reload on defense, especially OLB. Fortunately, this is a very good draft to do so. I think they'll give us a harder time than some suspect around here.
Oh please. The only team I know more about than the Steelers is the Ravens. I know that that defense is filled with over the hill players who gobble up obscene amounts of cap space. I can't remember the last time your franchise quarterback was able to stay healthy throughout a season. The only pro bowl talent on the offensive line can't stay healthy. You're home run hitting WR will likely walk. And the only player I can muster the strength to root for, Heath Miller, broke the 30 year mark at a position that does considerable damage to the body. The Steelers are on a decline and if they don't navigate this offseason carefully next season will be an ugly one.
