Remember Woodley's Comments?

56 posts in this topic

Hey everybody. Does anybody remember Lamarr Woodley's comments about Flacco a few years back when he said Joe Flacco wouldn't make it to a Super Bowl in this lifetime? We weren't making the Super Bowl because we were going to have to beat the Steelers. Newsflash, Woodley, you're not even the SECOND best team in the division, never mind the AFC.

same guy who said ray rice would curse the ravens by wearing the "terrible towel" on his head after beating the squeelers. if winning the superbowl was the curse, next year rice should set fire to the thing and maybe we can be "cursed" for the next decade

Woodley needs to be more concerned with the fact that his team lost to Tim Tebow and Brandon Weeden the last 2 seasons, and less about what the Ravens are doing.

Maybe rice should wear a terrible towel on his head after every win in Pittsburgh, It turned out great for the team in the end.lol

Yeah I thought about that on that night. Because I thought about how perfect the run was beating Luck, Peyton, Brady. And I thought if only it could have been Big Ben, Peyton, Brady.

But then I thought it was sweet for them to not even make the playoffs as a cherry on top lol

Remember how many talking heads/"news reporters" said that taking Tucker over Cundiff was a bad idea.... the list goes on and on. The reality of it is(and NOT every organization can say this), but the Ravens FO makes the right decision WAY WAY WAY more often than it make the wrong one. The outcome... 5 straight playoff apperances and a Super Bowl.

I think a Woodley is that thing you get in the morning after you've dreamed about Kate Upton... in a Flacco jersey.

Lamar Hunt? Yeah, we won that trophy in 2012-2013. It was a good season. We got to the Super Bowl and won with Joe Flacco as MVP.

What was the other trophy we won?

It was something important if I recall correctly.

Michael Lombardi trophy? I think that was it. Not sure why they named it after the Browns' GM.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, I'm happy that an AFC North team won the Super Bowl and keeps us the most competitve 2 team division in the NFL. I'm also going to concede the fact that Woods' comments were ridiculous - saying they wouldn't win a Super Bowl when you have (had) the talent on defense you guys had was probably a little silly.

I hope the first game of the season isn't against us. I feel like Steelers - Ravens games are best served in December when it's a) cold as balls outside and b ) when "smashmouth" football is at it's best.

Or c) Because that's how long it takes the linebacker named in this thread to get in shape ;).

I'd argue with you, but you're not wrong. Sadly.

I honestly think now that he's not battling his hammy and ankle injury he'll come into the season in shape. If he doesn't, he'll be our new NT.

Haha yea I'm just giving you a hard time. That Super Bowl was the height of misery for Steelers Nation, we'll see if it lights a fire under them next year. Also, this is going to be a great 4-team division if the Browns snag Alex Smith and have another good draft so I hope all of our boys are ready to buckle up those chin straps.

Guys I just learned some troubling news today. Joe Flacco is not only undeserving of Elite status, but he's not even considered one of the better QBs in the AFC. Reason why you as.

Well according to ESPN's Numbers Never Lie, Flacco isn't consider among the AFC's best because since being drafted 14 QBs have been selected to the Pro Bowl and Flacco isn't one of them. Among the names are, Chad Pennington, Matt Schaub, Matt Cassle and Andy Dalton.

I almost die from laughing so hard. How many foolish ways will they come up with to justify why Flacco isn't good. This argument alone should lead to the Pro Bowl being cancelled lol. Correct me if i'm wrong, but don't players bypass the Pro Bowl for the Super Bowl. Flacco has a Super Bowl MVP while Cassle has made a Pro Bowl, yea that's a fair trade off lol.

It's so laughable because the year Cassle made the Pro Bowl, he passed for 3,100yds 58% 27TDs 7Ints. Decent numbers, but that same year, Flacco passed for 3,600yds 63% 25TDs 10Ints and he outplayed Cassle in the playoff game that year. Advantage Flacco.

This is too funny. It's amazing that when the easiest thing to do is admit you were wrong, people try so hard to foolishly justify their initial stance.

Schaub, Cassel---they are garbage. They're managers--no more. Pennington is washed-up. Dalton didn't have a great year, either. I can see Dalton being good, though. He's still too young to really say and on top of it he has AJ-freaking-MoneyGreen! If Flacco had Green, man...I don't even want to imagine.
