Oz has made it a top priority to get Ellerbe back. He will probably come back. That would be a lot of money...not sure how much Kruger would cost on the Tag, but i don't think we could afford that. That could put off bringing back Ellerbe. And I'd much rather have Ellerbe back than Kruger.
Kruger is as good as gone, as some team will serverly overpay for him.
If anything, the tag seems to be going to Ellerbe or Reed. Hopefully, we get Ellerbe to a deal, and retain Reed via franchise tag
We now have one ring for each middle finger
May shame rain down upon you from the heavens for the dastardly deed that hast been done!

Pass rushers tend to either stay in one team, or get cut pretty fast. Ala Jason Babin, Ray Edwards.
If he wants to stay here, he'll need to take a sizable paycut. His only talent is getting to the QB, and doesn't really do much else.

As it is, I don't see Reed getting a new contract. I don't know whether the FO will let Reed or Kruger go, but I suspect they'll go with Reed.

Not sure if Kruger can thrive on other team.

If the past shows anything, its that most former Ravens LB's never really thrive on another team. It helped Kruger that Sizzle was pass-rushing on the other side of him. Even though Sizzle was never really 100% this year, teams still have to watch him.

A. It's much cheaper to franchise a Safety.
B. Ed biggest reason for continuing the fight was a ring imo. Now that he has it, the whispers of his family demands will only get louder to him.
The Ravens have to make sure that Ed really wants to play another 2-3 years or does he just want that Ray Lewis type send off.
For me, I think the Priority list after Flacco obviously, would be Ellerbe, Kruger, then Reed. Reason being is, the Ravens have to look towards the future of this team and although it will be a offensive led team, the D still has the talent to be top 10, with a few pieces. I love Ed and really hope he returns, but the youth of this team is more important.
Much like Ray, Ed will be allowed to test the Market and see if a team is willing to pay him 7M per year for maybe 2yrs of service. I don't even think the Pats, Jets nor Colts would pay it. I can't see Ed leaving Baltimore for anyone else. But if you franchise him, you force him to expect the deal the Ravens want or pay on a 1yr deal

I mean, Upshaw already has the whole "Jarret Johnson-like", stopping the run role down, pretty much perfectly. So, I guess it is easy to say the sky is the limit for Courtney Upshaw.
