He only needed the equivalent of 70 30 second time outs to get his head back on straight. They were done and he was confused and rattled. They should be thanking whoever or whatever caused that power outage since it kept them from getting embarrassed.

It would have been like the 2000 SB all over again, cept with offense ;)

The media overrated the hell out of SF's offense, they made Kaepernick out to be the second coming of Johnny Unitas. He played against Greenbays old tattered beat up defense, and Atlanta's old sloppy defense
Let's not try to undermine what an amazing job Kaepernick has done. Maybe those defense aren't very good, but a guy with 8 - 9 starts in the league has no business playing the way he did in the postseason.
Kaepernick earned the praise he got with some amazing performances of his own. In the end, he gave Flacco and our defense all it could handle.

Just curious...but what happened to all the new 49er fans we had made in the two weeks leading up to the big game? I am not trying to be a smart a** but I actually enjoyed talking to Marvin 49 and a few others about football and the games themselves.
I dunno, I tried to register on their board and got denied, wonder if my handle caused it, RAVENSRCHAMPIONS

Hmm...

just a great season and a great playoff run

beat my Coats in the first round
took out that big crybaby Manning
Mr. Softy Brady
and won the big one against a very tough Niners squad

nothing but respect for the entire organization, and really happy for the fans, I used to be a Baltimore fan (Coats)

great way to finish Ray!

It was fun following this story with Ray, it gave me something to follow after the Coats lost.

No weapons! but 2 Rings!

I think beating the Colts was awesome, especially since we've struggled against the Manning Colts in the past. But the only thing that would've made this playoff run even sweeter would've been knocking out the Steelers instead of the Colts.

But even without the Steelers this run was epic with the shear fact that we knocked out Manning & Brady plus two of the best defenses in the league.

2000 Defense GOAT
2006 Defense GOAT to not win a SB
2013 Defense: The Walking Wounded+ One of the greatest postseasons ever from Flacco

We needed Flacco in 2006 :P
Flacco was unreal, we hear about this Elite label all the time, but the truth is, Manning never came close to these numbers in the playoffs

He is humble and just a good guy

Great job Joe!

I hear that. I know those games against the Steelers are huge and those wins never get old. I hate them as much as your city.

Enjoy that title, hell of a year!

I'll be honest. If my team had just lost the Super Bowl, I don't know how willing I'd be to talk to fans of the other team. At least not for a few weeks.

The media overrated the hell out of SF's offense, they made Kaepernick out to be the second coming of Johnny Unitas. He played against Greenbays old tattered beat up defense, and Atlanta's old sloppy defense. Both defenses were very average and not very stout, yet the media looked at it like Kaepernick just played the Steelers or the Seahawks or a good defense. We had to beat 2 of the top teams in the NFL including Denvers very good defense and we won with a dominating offensive production. WE were ready for them, they werent ready for us, and we all know as fans even our own defense wasnt as good as the top defenses around the league this year due to injurys. But we still dominated Kaepernick and shutdown their offense aside from some garbage time stats where they made it a close game in the end. And yes the Ravens are already deemed underdogs for next years super bowl no surprise...just fuel for the fire that will help to get us back there.
We got ran over by RG3 during the regular season!I was nervous about the 49ers matchup....but we got it together in the red zone. I know our defense learns fast...but it took us a while to stop Big Ben. Glad we figured out the read option fast which was basically punch them fools in the mouth until the finesse falls off.

Man, I could not stand Dilfers commentary his complete awe of the 49ers offense , and their ability to run all over and destroy us. I will mute the tv anytime he is on from here on out.

The 49ers are simply a good second half team. Look what they did in the second half after being down to the Falcons 17-0 in the NFC Championship game

Let's also not completely ignore the fact that he was rattled and confused. The kid was done but received a blessing in 34 minutes to calm his nerves and get his head back together.

I like the kid. I think he's going to be successful for years to come but I'm also not willing to discount the 70 extra time outs the 49ers received to get their feet back under them. No power outage, different game.
I strongly believe (and this is just my opinion) but the reason why he was "in awe" of the 49ers was not only because he played for them (he played for us as well remember) ..... he wanted to remain the only QB in Raven history to win a Superbowl. he didn't want another Raven QB and team hoisting that trophy. I watched the post game interview with him and they said dilfer had "gotten emotional and was crying" after we won. and the fact when he was in the Americas game segament .. he said " I still think that to this day, we would have won been back , there's no question in my mind....and since they got released me. they have yet to be back" or something like that (not exact words but the jist was it)

What's funny is the lock step type attitude they brought with them like they were coming back no matter the outcome.... LOL , like people here believed them. I guess they thought we we smoking the same stuff as many of the national pundents that stated the 9er's, Pats and Bronco's were better.

Usually peeps that register on another teams board are there for taunting purposes only.

I heard all week this was the healthiest Ravens team this year, which is it now?
They were the healthiest in that we had the most starters on the field since the season started. But, all of our key contributors were noticeably hobbled and hurt.

Same thing that happened to the Denver and New England fans who were on here smack talkin. After we beat them they obviously threw their computer at the wall cried for a few hours and are making mock drafts of their teams draftin leon sandcastle to give them the edge next year.
Hey man, don't be hating on Sandcastle. Dude runs a 4.2 forty - BEAST! We all wish we could pick him had we not forfeited the chance to pick him if we had not WON THE SUPERBOWL

Sorry, bold, underline and caps-lock keys were stuck....

I feel the same way. Gore had 48 yards rushing 1/3 the way through the 3rd quarter, Kaepernick had no yards rushing at the time if I remember correctly and the 49ers had only been to the redzone twice, both stopped for field goals.

Not a doubt in my mind that the 49ers get something going in the game, but if there's no power outage in that game I think we lay a bit of a licking on them. We force the 3 and out right after Jones KR for a TD happens and the 49ers are completely demoralized. Instead they get nearly 40 minutes to catch their breath, calm everything down, and simplify things.

Especially the Pats fans. The 49ers were tame compared to the Pats. (Then again, most of you have no idea how much total crap by Pats fans we deleted.)

Edit: after reading his comment about Bowman & being sickened by Ray Lewis or whatever, I looked it up online because I was confused. I never heard anything about Bowman & Ray Lewis. Apparently, Bowman got upset because the Ravens were celebrating too loudly. Lmao. I can't believe that. Here's the article.

More QQing about the refs. Some of them are coming to the realization they got beat but others are hanging on lame excuses. The Ravens have just as many, if not more, things to complain about - we just made the plays.

The things OJ has had to overcome, he just isn't a guy in a wheelchair. He's a Raven and part of our community. The guy has gone through more than anybody should ever have to go through.
